Hemolelekeakua Kahaulelio tapped his finger against the counter as he waited for Jason to arrive at The Tri-Slice Pizzeria for delivery. He knew he shouldn't worry, Jason was always on time but he just felt anxious today. Everyone was already busy and Typhoon Co. had just ordered a huge delivery, halfway across Ascension City, during rush hour and Tri-Slice Pizzeria were famous for always managing to deliver on their 30 Minutes Or Its Free Promise AND Jason was almost a minute late! He had twenty seconds to get here before they'd be a minute behind schedule with a city on gridlock! Hemolelekeakua tried to calm down. Jason was never late. He came close sometimes but always pulled through when they needed him the most and they definitely needed him now. Tri-Slice Pizzeria had a few mottos but the one that Hemolelekeakua lived by was: 'Forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for a late pizza.' and that was going to be put to the test today. Typhoon Co. had ordered four 24-inch $500 Tequila-Lobster Pizzas. Plural. Featuring lobster, Osetra caviar, black truffle shavings, avocado, mango, and edible platinum flakes, the $500 pizza gets its hefty price tag and claim to fame thanks especially to the inclusion of three shots of top-shelf Patrón tequilas to the mix. Must be 21 or older to purchase with proof of ID. Hemolelekeakua had no idea if they were trolling the hell out of the Pizzeria or if they were being legit but either way, if Jason couldn't make it there in 30, he'd lose out on $2,000.00, which might be the idea, but if he could make it they'd make bank and make one heck of a name for themselves. Fortunately he was snapped out of his thoughts at the wonderful sound of Jason Chang clocking in just in time while finishing off a Power Bar. He waded up the wrapper and discarded it in the trash and hurried up to the boss. The redhaired dark eyed young man with the face of an angel and the Tri-Slice Pizzeria T-Shirt worn underneath a black jacket and gloves and jeans with red and yellow tennis shoes on, he was the star delivery boy of the restaurant. "Hey boss. Sorry about the wait. I was running a delivery for my family and there was a disturbance. Don't worry about it. What's up? What are we looking at?" The Hawaiian-Gentleman leaned forward and rested his arm on the counter. "Mordecai Price, Boss of Typhoon Co. 4, 24-inch $500 tequila-lobster pizzas. 30 Minutes. Rush Hour. You're my only hope on this." "30 Minutes or its free VS Gridlock? Not a problem." He leaned forward and smiled. "Put me in coach." "That's my man J.C.!" He laughed and put his hands on his shoulders. "You're my miracle worker, J.C. and I know you won't let us down here either." "Wouldn't dream of it. Lets do this." J.C. strapped the pizzas to his moped outside, strapped on his helmet and lowered his goggles and saluted his boss. "See you when I get back! WITNESS ME!" He called out and road off on his moped. "YOU WILL RIDE ETERNAL! SHINY AND CHROME!" Hemolelekeakua called out to him. "Just be careful and make it there. Please. We're counting on you." Jason was well aware of how important, and insane, this order was but he also knew that there was no way he could make the delivery on time. Not with the moped anyway. It was too slow and traffic was completely backed up today. It would take forever to make it to Typhoon Co. at this rate and he'd be out of a job and they'd be out of a ton of money and their reputation would take a huge dent. Jason wasn't sure if they'd survive a black eye like that but he wouldn't let it happen anyway. So instead of riding through traffic he turned away from it and road away down the road into an alleyway where he parked the moped, took the keys out, pocketed them and then he unstrapped the pizzas and grabbed them and draped a cloak he'd stashed down the alleyway earlier over the moped and tied it down. Satisfied, he picked up the pizzas again, rolled his neck, held them carefully, balanced himself, smiled and took off running, zipping across the city at warp speed, rocketing forward so fast he traversed the city in no time at all! Rushing from his starting point in the alley all the way to Typhoon Co in mere seconds! This would seem a bit suspicious though so zipped to the next block over and then calmly walked the rest of the way, deliberately taking his time to take a minute or two, then walking into Typhoon Co to deliver the pizza's. He moon walked through the metal detectors and then walked up to the front desk and set down the pizza's. " Hi there! My name's Jason, I'm with Tri-Slice Pizza, I have a delivery for Mordecai Price." The receptionist looked up at him in surprise, looked at the pizzas, looked at J.C. and nodded in acknowledgment. "Wow. Nice entrance. Sure, I'll let him know you're coming." "Thank you. Man this place is fancy." "You're welcome. Alright, top floor. They'll be waiting for you." J.C. smiled. "Thank you." She smiled back and turned to buzz him in while Jason walked away to the stairs! Mordecai heard knocking on the office door. He stood up to answer it found the pizza delivery guy standing there with a smile. "Tri-Slice Pizza! 30 Minutes or its free!" Mordecai blinked and then looked up at the clock. It hadn't even been seven minutes since he placed the order as a joke! He looked back at Jason and smiled. "Impressive. You guys are full of surprises. So that'll be $2k, right?" "Yes sir! Plus the tip."

He happily whipped out his checkbook, jotted it down and handed it to Jason with some more money for the tip. "You're quite the talented young man. How'd you get here so fast?" "The secret is knowing the backstreets and the shortcuts." Jason informed him. "The city gets gridlocked so often that you have to find creative ways around it." "That's impressive. I think you've got a bright future ahead of you, Mister...." "Chang. Jason Chang." "Jason, huh? Alright. I'll be sure to put in a good word for you and the pizzeria. If you're ever looking for a job here? We'll see about finding an opening for you." "Oh thanks so much. I'll keep that in mind sir. Enjoy your pizzas." They shook hands and Mordecai accepted the boxes and returned to the board room and set them down. "Well....okey-dokey then! Who's up for pizza?" He joked. - Jason climbed down the stairs as happy as he could be. He'd just pulled off a seemingly impossible delivery that would put their name on the map! Some might call it cheating but Jason didn't see it that way. He was born with these powers after all. They were a natural part of who he was. So why not use them? Besides, Hemolelekeakua was a cool old dude so there was nothing wrong with helping out him and the pizza place. Especially since Jason took full advantage of those employee discounts for the pizza's to fuel his speedy body. After descending the staircase he exited the building, took a walk around and then he zipped across the city to where he'd stashed the moped, got back on the horse and rode it back to work. After deliberately sitting in a bit of traffic he parked outside and walked back into the pizzeria waving the check. "We just made bank, boss man!" Hemolelekeakua stood upright and dropped his palms on the table. "ARE YOUSE SERIOUS?!" Jason walked right up to the register and set it down. "Check's all yours, boss. All you have to do is cash it." He accepted the check and looked it over in astonishment. "You...you actually did it! You absolute miracle working madlad! You actually did it! HAHAHA! THAT'S MY BOY! THAT'S MY BOY RIGHT THERE!" They clasped their hands together, hugged and fist bumped each other. "I don't know how did it! I don't have the faintest clue! But you are a miracle worker!" "It's all about the backroads, shortcuts and the fast lane, baby! That's how I work my magic!" "You're the best, Jason! The best around!" "Nothing's ever gonna keep us down!" They high-fived together and laughed. "Remind me to throw you a party, J.C.! A party and a raise!" "I will accept the pizza party...and this tip!" "All yours!" His boss told him. "Awesome. So. What's next?" - The rest of the deliveries were pretty simple. Jason was a lightning bolt zipping around the city, delivering the pizza's in record time, and then coming back to deliver the good news. The Tri-Slice Pizzeria's name was getting put on the map! They were going to be famous! He did feel a little bad for the other employees who, you know, didn't have super speed but the way HE saw it if he didn't deliver the pizza's to the mroe out of the way places like this and really get their name out there and keep bringing back the big bucks then the business would suffer and they wouldn't be as well paid and the business might collapse so it was for the best that he did things this way. After about a dozen deliveries he returned to work to drop off the latest check. They were going to be rolling in cash! "Ahhhh Jason my boy! You are a legend! Go on ahead and take a break for a while!" "You sure?" "Yeah, go ahead, you've been running around the whole city. Take a breather. Let the others have some fun for a while." "Hey, alright, cool, call me if you need me and I'll be here in a flash! Have fun guys!" He called to the other employees and walked out, went around the corner and zipped back home. Once again he ran across the entire city in mere seconds until he arrived back home and he casually walked up to the door, retrieved his hidden key and opened the door and closed it back up and he immediately zipped into the kitchen where a tray of sandwiches he'd made earlier were sitting under a cover. He took the cover off, set the tray down on the table and began scarfing down the sandwiches to recharge his energy. His parents were at their respective jobs for the day so he'd have plenty of free time to relax for a bit or even go on a free run before he'd be called back to work.

His parents were at their respective jobs for the day so he'd have plenty of free time to relax for a bit or even go on a free run before he'd be called back to work. After eating his lunch he was in the middle of cleaning the plate when he heard an alert on his phone and whipped it out and checked it out. Someone in Shepard had placed an order for the Indestructible Compendium Volume 4 he'd put up for sale. Jason clicked accept and zipped up to his room and came down with the copy in plastic wrapping and then he grabbed the extra wrapping and wrapped it up and then placed it in a bag and tied it up, placed that in a bag on his back, and looked at the address on his phone and smiled. "Shepard, huh? This is going to be so damn awesome!" He checked the time and grabbed his watch and slapped it on his wrist and set the timer and then he pocked his phone, walked out of his house, closed the door, locked it up and placed a pair of goggles on his head and did a quick little dance to warm-up, walked over to the driveway, crouched down in a runner's stance and sped off! He shot across Ascension City like a lightning bolt, his body illuminated by a Speed Aura with energy crackling off of him as he ran across the city, zig-zagging around obstacles in his path, quickly traversing the length of the city and shooting off into the distance like a bullet! He exited the city, raced down the streets, down the roads, traveling across the country at outrageous speeds like The Millennium Falcon going Lightspeed! Like Lightning zapping through the air! Speed was his specialty and he was now running literally cross country at superhuman speeds to deliver the comic to its buyer. Sure there were delivery companies that could pull this off with a One-Day Delivery but how many of them could pull off a Superspeed Delivery right after it was placed? That's how he rolled! He continued running across the length of the country until he finally reached the town's outskirts and zipped past the big beautiful sign welcoming visitors to the town.
(Ah! About time! Now where's this farm? Eh, shouldn't be too hard to find, right?) Jason mused. - Meanwhile, Izzy-Bean was walking through the town with Sally. "So I said to this witch: "WTF were you and that lion doing in my wardrobe?" She said "Narnia business", right? So here I am with this witch and this Lion and I'm just like-" A lightning bolt zapped past them followed by a gust of wind and dust kicking up and Izzy waved her hand and dispersed it but they looked where the lightning bolt had been traveling. "The fug was that?" "A speedster?" Sally asked. "Someone new?" The lightning bolt sped around the town before speeding off in the direction of King Farm. - David was just about to get back to his chores around the farm when he noticed the lightning bolt suddenly traveling across the farm followed swiftly by repeated knocks on the door. He cautiously approached the door and looked out the window to see some kid brushing himself off and taking a package out of a bag. He turned around and looked back at his computer and then back at the kid. (Wait...didn't I just place that order a minute or so ago? Where'd he come from?)

Where'd he come from?) David opened the door to great the kid. "Hi. Can I help you?" "Hiya. This is the King Residence, correct?" "Yeah. I'm David. This is our farm. You like it?" "I love it man! Seriously, I don't visit a lot of farms but this place is beautiful!" David smiled and stepped out and sat down on the bench and gestured for him to join him. "Thanks a lot. Uh, I'm sorry, I haven't caught your name?" "I'm Jason. Jason Chang. Professional Courier of Ascension City." He handed David the Comic Compendium he'd ordered. "Your order, my friend." "Oh man thank you so much, Jason!" David accepted the comic and held it up. "Ohhhh it's so huge! I am going to be reading this for days!" "No spoilers? The fight at the end is freaking amazing." "Ohhhh I can't wait." David chuckled. "Thank you so much Jason." "You're welcome. It's a pleasure doing business with you, David." David chuckled and set the comic down on his lap. "So, by the way, what's it like being a speedster?" "It's the only way to travel." Jason assured him. "The wind whipping at your hair, the world blurring around you as you zip past everything and everyone like a lightning bolt...it's the coolest thing ever, David."

(One of these days) David thought to himself dreaming of the moment when he too will have that experience. "Once again, thanks for the comic. I'd introduce you to the rest of the family but Mom is doing errands for the Lady Clementine *No relation* and Eve's working at the Cafe Arcadia"
Fastlane recognize the familiarity of the name of the cafe then a proverbial lightbulb lit up. "Isn't that the Fae Run cafe across from the Bifrost Diner?"
David smiled, "That's the one. My friend Izzy also works there. She's pretty cool as long as you make a good impression"

"I can have you over there in a split second." "Oh man that sounds like fun! Give me a second okay?" "Sure." David returned inside, placed the comic on a table, wrote a note to his Mom explaining where he was going and that he promised to handle his chores after, and then he closed down the house before finally returning outside, closed the door and locked it behidn him. Jason quickly double-checked his watch. He had more than enough time to hang out in Shepard for a bit before he would have to return home. He looked back up and smiled. "Ready to run?" "Ready." "Cool. Get ready. This is going to be FAST!" He grabbed onto David and leaned forward. Speed energy crackled around both of them as they began glowing. Then he took off and the world around David became one long blur with the wind and air blowing through his hair. He zipped away from the farm and down the road back into town like a lightning bolt that traveled through Shepard and then stopped at the Cafe. It only lasted a second but it was a memorable rollercoaster for David! "Annd here we are!" Jason declared. He looked over to David and laughed at his wild windblown hair and pointed to a window. "Oh MAN that's a good look!"

"Oh MAN that's a good look!" "Ahhhhh! Hey, watch the hair man." David joked and he ran his hands through his hair to fix it back down while he checked his reflection in the glass window. "Okay! Alright, bet, we good." "To be fair, I'm a speedster. Your hair's going to get a bit windswept running with me." Jason told him with a chuckle. "Then why isn't yours messed up?" "Speed Field." He informed David while dashing to his side and then back again. "Yeah, yeah, rub it in, 'Sonic'." David joked. "Just be sure to watch your speed while we're inside." "Oh don't worry about that. I'm well versed in Indoor Speeds." Jason replied and walked inside with David into the Fae Café. "Ohhh man this place is amazing looking." The Fae Cafe was a marvel of design, with its delicate filigree walls and sparkling stained glass windows that filtered the sunlight into a kaleidoscope of colors. The cafe's interior was a feast for the eyes, with intricate carvings of mythical creatures adorning the walls and delicate crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The tables were made of dark wood and adorned with lace doilies, and the chairs were upholstered in soft velvet cushions. The overall effect was one of understated elegance, as if the Fae themselves had crafted the cafe with their own delicate fingers. "Welcome to one of the most fantastical cafe's on the planet! Try the confectionaries, they're some of the best you'll ever have." "I could use a snack." Jay admitted. "One of the drawbacks of super speed is you have to stay fueled." "I'll tell you what then. I'll cut you a deal: I'll pay for the food and you can pay me back in Superhero Stories." David offered. "Deal! Heck, we can trade 'em if you got 'em. Only fair to warn you though, I can eat a lot."
