 Quick question. How in the holy hell could this movie make it possible for me to root for the KILLER CANNIBAL?!! Rooting for a cannibal shouldn't be the emotion we should have in a horror film. The movie managed to make the characters in this so unlikable that I was praying for Leatherface to wipe the assholes out. Hell this movie pretty much made him a bonified anti-hero. The one good scene though was The Bus Scene.  So this is all I have. Consider this an appetizer as I'm going to do a horror-themed review session for October. |

Yeah, the sheer douchebaggery of the main cast in the movie is the reason I went so far in making the cast in the Fallenthorne story so much more comparatively likable. The majority of the movie could've been avoided if Dante wasn't such an asshole and had everything together from the start. And Sally was unreasonably stupid in this. Like, at one point she literally had Leatherface at gunpoint, absolutely dead to rights, and just...backs off and lets him lumber away because he didn't seem to recognize her at first. Compare and contrast with Laurie being ready for Michael for decades and being fully prepared to fight it out with him when he finally made it to her house with traps on top of traps. If the Firefighters didn't show up when they did, The Strodes would've WON! The bus scene was utterly fantastic though on that I agree. |
