Author's Note: Rewatching Smallville this idea came to mind when I was examining the friendship between Clark and Lex and I came to the conclusion, while Lex has his grey moments Clark wasn't a saint in how he handled his friendship with Lex either. So I thought I'd rectify it. With a female version of Clark named Claire.
Prologue
"Are you sure you want to do this?"
Claire Kent
I hear Brandon ask next to me. To be perfectly honest I have been doing a combination of rehearsing what I was going to say to him and convincing myself that it's a good idea. Good thing I have my cousin with me for moral support. Heck, despite the relation he's more like my little brother than anything else. "Lex has had our backs and was there for us when we needed it. What kind of friend would I be if I keep this from him?"
Brandon nods in understanding, "Point taken. Still, you know your Dad will freak if he finds out"
"Hence why I told your Dad. Mine may be a bit"
Brandon raised his eyebrow and I laugh.
"OK. I love him but Dad's one of the most stubborn individuals I've ever known. But if there's anyone who can get him to see reason why I'm doing this it's yours" I ruffled Brandon's hair and staired up at the Luthor Mansion. I swear it looks as if it keeps getting bigger each time I visit. I feel Brandon holding my hand as he glances at it too. He once told me that the place look like it came out of a horror film. So to say it gives him the creeps would be an understatement
"Just remember that the person who lives here is a cool guy and he wouldn't let anything happen to us"
Brandon scoffed, "I'm not a little kid. I can take whatever comes my way"
I just smiled and wrapped an arm around him as we make our way to the mansion.
