The Research Facility stood tall as a monument to progress on the outskirts of the city. It was a state of the art building with scientists from around the country and patrolled by security guards regularly to protect them and keep them safe from villain attacks. Everyone worked hard but they also got along well which made it a fun place to work with a wonderful work environment. But tonight they were finally about to get a visit from their first villain engagement. A fleet of armored lizard themed cars pulled up to the facility and the doors opened up and the Lizard Battalion, the helmet outfitted mindcontrolled legions of The Lizard League flooded out of the cars and ran towards the facility while gunning down the men stationed outside. They were closely followed by Iguana, Salamander, Komodo and King Lizard. The Leader and his enforcers boldly walked stormed the facility with Komodo taking all gunfire for The King while Salamander returned fire on them and Iguana raced ahead dodging and weaving around gunfire to rip and tear through the men outside until they reached the doors and the soldiers parted so Komodo could run right inside and he broke through the wall and kept right on running.
Lizard King knew that he should be happy right now, since things were actually going well for them for once, but something was bugging him. Not only was this going way too easily for them but he didn't smell any blood. He'd been part of enough of the Lizard Leagues Operations over the years to be very familiar with the scent of blood and whatever they were spilling everywhere wasn't that. He gunned down one of the guards and walked over to him and then he knelt over and he began smelling his wounds while waving the air to his nose. Something was wrong. He knew the smell of blood. This wasn't it. He stood back up and called out to Komodo.
"Hey! Komodo!"
He looked up from where he was grabbing a scientist. "Yeah?"
"Maul that guy in particular!"
"YUM!" He called out and opened his mouth wide and then he boldly bit into his side and tore a chunk out of him! He chewed once, twice, paused and then he threw the man away and began coughing and hacking and spitting what he just tore out. "Aggghhh! Uuuuugggh! That's not blood! Or flesh!" He walked over to the man and looked down at him. He didn't see bloody guts like usual. Just wires and metal and circuits and oil! "SIR! My liege! It's not blood!"
"What? They're machines? The hell?! But that means...everybody stop! Stop and regroup right now! It's a trap!"
They were interrupted by the sound of a woman laughing behind them and they turned around to face...Stars&Stripes!
Hahahahahahahahahaha! Woooowww! Oh Man this is hilarious! I'm surprised it took you this long to figure it out! But of course this would be the perfect trap for a bunch of scrubs like you guys."
"Ohhhhhh-" Salamander started as he backed away in fear.
"Shiiiiiiit!" Iguana finished.
"H-h-h...how...how...huh...huh...how d-dare...how dare you!" The Lizard King fired back after finding his voice again. "We are THE LIZARD LEAGUE AND WE ARE NOT A JOKE! NO MATTER WHAT THE MEDIA SAYS!"
"Didn't you get kicked out of New York by a bunch of ninjas?" She joked.
"Sh-shut up! That was a tactical retreat and only a temporary one! We shall return stronger and deadlier than ever and have our gruesome revenge! Starting right now! You may have surprised us but I have an an entire army! We will tear you apart!"
Iguana and Salamander looked at King like he was completely insane while Stars just laughed at them. "Really now? With what secret weapon?"
"KOMODO! TEAR HER LUNGS OUT!" King Lizard shouted at him. "THE REST OF YOU: SPREAD OUT AND OPEN FIRE!"
Komodo gulped and charged her while the Lizard Legion followed his orders. "Alright then lets do this. New Order: GRAVITY!" She raised her hand up. "The Gravity In Front Of Me Shall Be Repelled!" As soon as she finished talking the gravity in front of Stars was projected forward like a massive shockwave that washed over Komodo and sent him flying across the room until he smashed into a wall! The gravity shockwave also had a side benefit of repelling the bullets they'd been firing on her AND sending King and his soldiers flying back with them! They hit the wall just like him and dropped down. Stars ended the attack and dusted off his hands and looked at Salamander and Iguana. "So! What else you got?"
