"Ahhhh there we go." Yonezawa smirked as she watched their friends spread word out about it. She was well aware that not everyone would so helpful but the more people knew about it, the better it would be. "Heh-heh-heh, I bet this pussy little stalker's pissing his pants right about now. Now? If anything happens to either of us? The police will have some leads and with everyone watching our backs we'll be untouchable. But just in case? I'll take some insurance to the meteor shower. I don't think we'll have any problems but I want to be safe." She walked up to her closet doors, opened them up and took out a bat and a pair of armored gloves. "Just try and get me now." "Uhhh....incidentially...do you have anything for me?" Tahara asked. "Of course I do! I would never leave my bestie hanging! Give me a second...let's see....no...no...that's not it...no...where is...ha! Found it!" She pulled out a pair of nunchaku and handed her a pair of nunchaku! "Behold!" "Uhhh...thanks? But I don't really know how to use these and are these even legal?" "So long as they're used for Self-Defense, yes, technically. Besides, you don't have to use them. Just pose like you can. Creep-o sees you packing? He's going to think twice!" Yonezawa told her with a big wide smile. Obviously getting way too into this. "I'm not a Sukeban, Yoney! I'm barely a Martial Artist! I'm a Yellow Belt!" Tahara reminded her. "Can't I just, I don't know, carry a taser or pepper spray or something?" "Boo. Spoilsport." "You know me, Yoney. I'll take boring but practical over awesome and impractical any day." The two girls shared a laugh together and then Yonezawa sat back down next to her and then she set the bat down and looked back at her phone. "I really should charge this. My phone's gonna be busy tonight." "Good idea." She got up and started to walk towards the bathroom when Tahara stopped her. "Yoney! Wait! I have an idea!" "Sure, what's up?" "Grab the bat and gloves again! Put the gloves on and rest the bat on your shoulder so I can get a picture!" "Oh! Good idea!" She did as her bestie asked and placed the bat on her shoulder while posing proud and strong and serious until Tahara took the pictures and then she posted them. "That's my girl." She walked into the bathroom to plug in her phone when Tahara called back out to her. "You really do look like a Sukeban though!" "You're not a Sukeban until you master the Yo-Yo! It's a rule!" Yonezawa called back. "Duly noted." She replied and plugged in her phone and then the two friends sat back down on Yoney's bed to work on their homework assignments together with the bat resting next to them. Normally they would find it a bit boring but after the sudden scare of the creepy letter it was a good way to start winding back down, chill out and take their minds off of it. Besides, Astrophysics assignments tend to require a good amount of brainpower and focus anyway, to say nothing of the other assignments, and they needed to take care of their homework before they could focus on the meteor shower. Fortunately they were able to work together and use their combined brain power to cut the time they normally would've spent on the assignments in half. It was still tough but that's the benefit of working with a friend. Time Passed and the two collapsed on the bed with their paperwork and books and assignments littering the bed around them. "Oh man that was bonkers. I'm drained after that." Tahara sighed. "Please tell me we can finally take a break." "We're all done so yeah, yeah we can definitely take a break." Yonezawa declared. "Be sure to pack up all your stuff first and then we can go have our snack break while we pack up our other snacks and drinks." "SWEET!" She sat back up and the girls packed up their homework assignments and then placed their bags on the bed. Yonezawa retrieved her phone from the bathroom and took point walking out of the bedroom and down the hallway with the bat in her hand and resting on her shoulder. Fortunately this proved to be unnecessary because nothing happened on their way back down to the first floor so Yonezawa set aside her bat and let it rest against the kitchen island while she retrieved a fruit salad from the refrigerator and filling up a bowl for both of them. "Alright, snacks are served, what do you want to drink?" "Oh! Do you have a W.W.3?" "One Whimsical Watermelon Wave coming right up!" She replied and returned to the fridge and retrieved a watermelon drink for Tahara and a Tropical Twirl for herself. After closing the refrigerator, Yonezawa sat down next to Tahara and they clinked their drinks and began enjoying their meals. The juicy sweetness of the strawberries and pineapples exploded in their mouths, mingling with the tartness of the kiwis and the creaminess of the coconuts. It was like a symphony of flavors, each one complementing the others in perfect harmony. This fruit salad was no ordinary dish; it was a masterpiece crafted with the finest fruits from across the land, each one carefully selected for its succulent sweetness and vibrant colors. Each bite of the fruit salad sent waves of pleasure through their taste buds, leaving them craving more as they savored every morsel. The whimsical watermelon wave meanwhile was a refreshing drink was not just any ordinary soda, but a delicious watermelon-flavored beverage that had been sweeping the nation by storm. At first, it was just a small, local phenomenon, cherished by the hipsters in the know. But soon, word of the whimsical watermelon wave spread like wildfire, and before long, it was all anyone could talk about. People from all over the country flocked to their local grocery stores, eager to taste the sweet, fruity goodness for themselves. As the demand for the whimsical watermelon wave grew, so did its popularity. Soon, it was being served in restaurants and cafes everywhere, and even the big soft drink companies had long since taken notice. The Tropical Twirl Soda was a sweet and fizzy concoction that was the epitome of tropical flavor. The drink was made with the finest ingredients, carefully selected to capture the essence of the islands. The Tropical Twirl Soda was a sight to behold. Its bottle was adorned with colorful, swirling patterns that seemed to dance in the light. When you poured it into a glass, the drink would foam and fizz, releasing a burst of tropical flavors that tantalized your taste buds. Islanders in the tropics adored the Tropical Twirl Soda, and it was a staple at every island gathering. Whether you were sipping it on the beach, at a barbecue, or at a festive carnival, the Tropical Twirl Soda was always the life of the party. Its sweet, tangy flavor was the perfect complement to the warm, sunny weather of the islands. They were the perfect drinks to compliment their pre-Meteor Shower Meals. They continued to enjoy their meals together until they heard a car pull up outside and park. Masago and Tahara paused in their meals and Masago rotated in her seat to face the door while cautiously reaching for her bat. "Do you think it's our mystery stalker?" "I don't know but they're coming to the door now. Get behind cover and grab the phone just in case. If it turns out to be a false alarm I'll let you know." "Already on it!" She replied cheerfully and quickly ducked behind the kitchen island while Masago kept her hand on the bat as the arrival walked right up to the door. Once she saw the familiar female silhouette outside however the tension immediately left her even as the key was turned in the lock and the door opened up to reveal her beloved mother. Yonezawa Akari. "Masa!" She greeted her cheefully before she saw the baseball bat. "Well. That's quite the greeting." "Ahhh-ha-ha-ha-haaaaa...well, you know, considering the day I've had you can't blame me for being too careful! Yo, Tahara! It's clear! Yu can come back up!" She popped her head back up and waved. "Hey Miss Yonezawa! How's it going?" "Hello yourself, Tahara. Welcome." She closed the door and placed her shoes in the shoebox. "Jokes aside, Masa, I'm proud of you for taking the initiative to prepare a counter-offensive. A baseball bat is a good weapon choice and you were clearly prepared to defend yourself and getting the word out about it. Good job dear." She informed her daughter. "You'd still lose to me of course but I'm proud of you." "Woah! Really?" "Yeah." Masago admitted. "She taught me how to dance and fight and she still has moves that I haven't figured out." Akari raised her arms up and held her hands in a stance similar to the Praying Mantis Style but Masago knew it was actually prep for her pressure points tricks. She just laughed though and ran forward and leaped into her mother's arms. Akari dropped the Faux-Mantis Stance and instead embraced her daughter and spun her around. "My brave, brave, little girl. I saw the text. You must've been so scared." "Heh. I'm not scared of anything, Mama. I was just being cautious is all." "Of course." She pulled back and knelt down to hold her daughter. "Now, Masa? I know you've been looking forward to it for a long time now but are you absolutely sure you want to go to the meteor shower tonight? You can view it just fine from here." "I am! I have to go! I promised everyone I'd joined them. It's not just for the spectacle! It's for our club! For my friends! For Science! For Astronomy! I am not going to let some bawk-bawk-chicken ruin everything we've planned for all this time! Besides! I'm not going alone! I'll have my whole crew with me and you can chaperone!" "Strength in numbers. I like your thinking. Alright. I'll go with you guys and I'll make absolutely sure that nobody messes my little girl or her friends!" "Yahooooo! You're the best Mama in the world!"

TIME PASSED!
All too soon they were all packed up to go. Yonezawa was bouncing on her heels next to the car until her mother laughed and let her in. She zipped right in and got buckled up. Her bat was contained in a bag next to her seat and she had a book bag of books and snacks on her lap. Tahara sat in the seat next to hers. It was a bit unfortunate that her Father was too busy at work to make it but he had promised to find a way to be with her there in spirit and Yoney knew he'd never let her down. Their equipment was in the back of the car. Once everyone was buckled up her mother turned on the engine and backed the car up and drove towards the watching spot. They picked up a few of their friends on the way over, as many as they could fit in the car, and would meet up with the rest once they arrived. It didn't take long before they arrived at the park and Yonezawa hopped out and helped everybody out of the car and then circled around to the back to grab their equipment and blankets and then they marched up the hill and found the designated observation spot that Yonezawa had scouted out a few days prior. She had spent hours painstakingly studying the various lookout spots at the park and had decided, through nighttime skyward observations, that this was in the absolute perfect spot for watching the meteor shower so everyone followed her lead and got set up. Everyone was here: Her mom, Tahara, Nishikawa, Hasaguchi Reina, Seki Tsukiko, Shimada Mariko, Igarashi Kimiko, Hamaguchi Saburou, Reo Kanaoka, Tsuyoshi Nakamura, Hitoshi Nakamura, Mizuki Kumagai and Eriko Takakusa. Yonezawa even spotted Chioko off in the distance with her own group. She waved but she didn't think she saw her so she went back to setting up. First the blanket and then the cameras. They were going to absolutely catch everything! This, combed with their notes, would result in them going well above and beyond in their club activities duties and they'd put all of their videos together and create their perfect Meteor Shower Compilation Video!
"It's almost time guys! It's almost time! It's almost here! The cosmic event we've all been waiting for!" She turned the camera to face her. "Yonezawa Masago here coming at you LIVE here with my friends and family as we eagerly await the shining light of the meteor shower!"
"Coming at them live? Isn't this a recording?" Tahara pointed out to her.
"Don't worry about the details." Yonezawa joked. "Anyway! The Astronomy Club and our friends and loved ones have assembled together for this momentous event! The meteors are going to light up the sky light they're going to light up our lives! We're going to capture everything, record it, get statements of others and write down our own thoughts on the entire event! This is going to be a memorable event and we'll capture all of it!" She turned the camera to her friends and mother. "Alright everybody! Lets introduce ourselves!"
Everyone did as they were asked, going around one-by-one to introduce themselves to the camera and give their thoughts before it finally circled back around to Yonezawa. "Alright! Now, if my calculations are correct, the meteor shower should be starting in...10! 9! 8! 7! 6! 5! 4! 3! 2!" She turned the camera around and raised it up to the sky to catch the shooting star. "ONE! It's here! It's here guys! It's showtime!" The entire group raised their heads, telescopes, binoculars, cameras, phones or whatever else they had to the sky to watch the meteor shower.
As they gazed up at the vast expanse of the night sky, a sense of wonder and excitement filled their hearts. The second that streak of light cut through the darkness, leaving a trail of sparkling dust behind it, Yonezawa gasped in awe, her eyes wide with amazement. Tahara laughed and wrapped an arm around her best friend's shoulder and sat there with her to enjoy the show. They continued to watch as more meteors streaked across the heavens and painted the sky in a kaleidoscope of colors. Each meteor seemed to tell a story as it streaked across the sky. Some of them moved swiftly like the shooting stars they expected while others danced gracefully, leaving a trail of glowing embers in their wake. Yonezawa could only imagine each meteor as a messenger from another world, carrying with them the secrets and dreams of far-off galaxies. The meteors continued to light up the sky with their otherworldly spectacle. The friends laughed and whispered to each other sharing in the magic of the moment. Time seemed to stand still as they lost themselves in the beauty of the celestial ballet playing out above them. Streaks of light cutting through the darkness like fiery arrows or angelic messengers from the heavens painting a cosmic masterpiece across the canvas of the night sky.
In that moment, surrounded by the wonders of the universe playing out overhead, the crew felt a profound sense of connection to each other and to the cosmos. They realized that they were part of something much greater than themselves, something vast and timeless, and it caused something to awaken within Yonezawa again. She knew what it was, she was far too familiar with it, it was the yearning again. The longing for adventure, for discovery, the calling to the stars. The desire to escape Mother Earth's gravity and dance among them. It was a drive, a desire, a yearning she'd felt for years ever since she found that meteor, and one she knew that she would one day satisfy. So she decided to take this chance and make a wish upon a particularly bright meteor that shot across the sky that Yonezawa made a silent wish upon it. A wish to join the stars once again. A wish to leave Earth's gravity behind. A wish to become the astronaut she always knew she could be. Yonezawa clasped her hands and looked up at the night sky and smiled as she made her silent plea to the stars above.
After she made that silent pleading wish she lowered her hands and held Tahara's hand instead as the team watched the meteor shower play out above them. It was everything that Yonezawa had dreamed it would be.

After she made that silent pleading wish she lowered her hands and held Tahara's hand instead as the team watched the meteor shower play out above them. It was everything that Yonezawa had dreamed it would be. - As the last streak of light from the meteor shower faded away into the night sky, the friends remained on the blanket applauding the entire show. Beyond just their jubilant celebrations the air was filled with whispers of excitement and wonder as they discussed how awesome the celestial display had been. "I can't believe we just witnessed that. It was like something out of a movie." Tahara exclaimed, her eyes still glued to the dark expanse above. "I know, right? That was beautiful." Nishikawa agreed, his voice tinged with excitement. "It's moments like this that make you realize how small we are in this vast universe. But also how connected we are to it all." Yonezawa mused. "Space is so awesome!" "I'm glad we all came here tonight. I don't know about you guys but I will never forget this." Reo added to the conversation. "Same here. I got so much footage of the event! I'm going to write down a full essay on this! It's going to be awesome!" Tsuyoshi added. "Speaking of footage! You guys read to get some interviews?" Mizuki asked the group. "YOU BET!" "Great! Just remember to not be too pushy. Even a word or two will be fine and ask for permission before filming them. Writing down their responses is just fine but don't film them if they don't want to be filmed. We're The Astronomy Club, not streamers, class and decorum is to be expected." Yonezawa reminded everyone with a smile and a wink. "Yes mom." Eriko responded in a joking manner that caused the rest of the group to laugh. Yonezawa rolled with it though and then the group splintered off to get their interviews. Not everyone wanted to be filmed of course but they were able to get some statements all the same. Yonezawa meanwhile used this chance to quickly catch up to Uchimura. "Yoooo! Uchi! How's it going?" "Oh-oh! Yonezawa....hi." She responded timidly before she straightened back up and smiled. "How are you doing? Did you enjoy the meteor shower?" "Oh you have no idea! There is just so much I can say about it really. Like, there isn't enough time in the day for me to say everything I want to say about it! But enough about me! Lets talk about you. Would you like to make a statement on the meteor shower?" "...It was awesome! It was...it was....ummm..." She paused as she saw Nishikawa walking over to join them before a big smile crossed her face. "Hey! Hey! Do you have your phone ready?" "Of course! You want to record your statement?" "You bet I do. Give me a minute to get ready." She told Yonezawa as she adjusted her glasses. "Alrighty! Rolling in 3, 2, 1...GO!" "The beauty of it all, in the vast expanse Stars twinkle above, while meteors dance A cosmic ballet in the velvet night Captivating our hearts with pure delight We gaze up in wonder our spirits uplifted By this natural display so beautifully gifted Each streak of light a wish we make Hoping it reaches the Heavens without mistake In that fleeting moment, we feel connected To the universe above us, so vast and respected The beauty of a meteor shower's grace Reminds us of our small place in space So let us cherish these moments rare And marvel at the magic in the air For in this fleeting cosmic shower's glow We find solace and wonder, as above and below." "Got it! Oh man that was amazing Uchi! That was fantastic!" She hugged the shy glasses girl. "Thank you so much for letting us record that!" "Oh. OH! Oh, ah, okay, thank you. You're welcome." She replied and patted her on the back. Nishikawa smiled and saluted them. "That was really good. Nice job." "Mmmmmm! Th-thank...thank you! You're really all so sweet!" Yonezawa stepped back and laughed. "You're sweet yourself dear. Thanks for the poem. You really should consider a career as a writer." "Thank you!" "You're welcome! And thanks to all of you! This was our dream and we made it happen! Now we just have to save our footage. We can put it all together tomorrow at The Club. Be sure to have your writings ready. I know that everyone's write-ups will be amazing!" "You've got it!" The team cheered. Everyone who was traveling with The Yonezawa's filed into their car and they were gradually dropped off at their respective houses until it was just The Yonezawa's returning to her home. "Sooo? How was it honey?" "That was awesome!" Yonezawa declared. "That was the best night ever! I've needed that for so long! We had the snacks and my friends were there and you were there and everyone was there and it was beautiful and perfect and amazing!" She exclaimed. "That was just the best! Thank you, Mama! Thank you!" She bowed her head repeatedly. "I'm going upstairs to put my footage together, okay?" "Of course dear. I'm glad you had fun tonight. Going to be hard to top this celebration though." "Don't worry I'll think of something!" Masago responded to her mother as she rushed upstairs into her room to prep the footage.

The memories of the meteor shower would live on in their hearts and memories forever. Everyone who witnessed that cosmic spectacle would carry with them the dazzling display of shooting stars streaking across the sky in their brilliant displays of flash and colors but as the last of the colors vanished from the sky with the meteors, the sky was filled with an ominous silence as if something was not quite right. Not all of the meteors had burned up in the atmosphere or continued onwards into space. Many of them had fallen down from the sky. They rained down from the Heavens to land on Earth all over the planet. Some of them were harmless if valuable rocks but the others were silently waiting for the dominant lifeforms on Earth to find them and pick them up. They didn't move. They just patiently waited for the lifeforms to find them. When one of them would get close they began pulsing and emitting a signal that enticed the lifeforms to pick them up. The closer they got to the meteor rocks the greater the sensation became. They had to find them, to study them, to pick them up. The moment they did so, mere seconds after they picked up the meteor rocks, the microscopic lifeforms inhabiting the meteor rocks flowed out of the meteors and into the lifeforms. They passed right through the rocks and into the bodies of the lifeforms. Once inside they began multiplying and spreading through the lifeforms bodies. The lifeforms continued picking them up around the world completely ignorant of the extraterrestrial lifeforms they were allowing into their bodies.

Perspective Swap!
Following the spectacle of glittering stars and shining lights, Yanagimachi Tadamichi woke up the next morning with a big smile on his face. Last night's meteor shower had been a show for the ages and one he would cherish for the rest of his life. He hopped out of bed, quickly showered and brushed his teeth, dried off, returned to his room, got dressed, grabbed his glasses and put his watch on and checked it. He was right on schedule. Good. Tadamichi was the type of guy to stick to his rigid scheduling. He loved his routines and he stuck to them because that was just the easiest way for him to live. No need to disrupt it or complicate matters when living your life on schedule made everything simpler. Besides, his adherence to being on time all day ensured that he got to Kurosawa Prep on time every single day and that he could take down his homework on time and study whenever he got home. His life was scheduled so he leaned into it with a smile on his face. The glasses clad young man in school uniform quickly descended the stairs with his bag in his hand, slid into the kitchen, sat down, enjoyed it, and then he double-checked his watch. He was still right on schedule so he took the dishes to the sink, cleaned them, and then he set them into the washer and closed it back up. After retrieving his bag, Tadamichi hurried out the door while high-fiving his dad on the way out. Tadamichi snapped his fingers as he walked to Kurosawa Prep while quietly singing to himself. "Waking up early, the sun's shining bright Grab my bag, ready for a new day in sight Friends by my side, laughter fills the air School time is happy time, nothing can compare Learning and growing, making memories to last Every moment cherished, even when the days go fast School time is happy time, where dreams take flight We'll reach for the stars and shine so bright Together we'll conquer any mountain we climb School time is happy time, a melody so fine Lessons and lectures, challenging our minds Teachers who guide us with patience so kind Lunch breaks and fitness, games in the yard School time is happy time, life isn't so hard." Tadamichi continued swinging while he walked past everyone going about their daily lives. He waved to them and several of them of course waved back. Everyone was chattering either about the meteor shower last night or something else in their lives which wasn't surprising considering how amazing it was. As he continued on his route to school however a glimmer of light caught his eye and he stopped and turned his head to try and find it. Tadamichi looked around the grass until the light flickered in his vision again and he finally narrowed down where it was. He adjusted his glasses and approached the shining light and moved aside the foliage to make the discovery of a lifetime: There was a small smooth silver object just laying there in a small hole in the ground! It looked like it could've been a piece of some mysterious larger object that must've been broken apart by the heat and force of re-entry to slam down on the ground here. It had to be from the meteor shower. It had to be. He'd never seen a rock like this in his life. It was so amazing. It was beautiful. He was reaching out to grab it before he was even consciously aware of it. He picked up the meteorite and blew on it and brushed off the rest of the dirt and debris of it so he could study it further. It was warm to the touch but not painfully so and it was surprisingly light all things considered. Tadamichi stared at in wonder as he continued to study the meteorite. He just couldn't tear his eyes away from the meteorite or the strange iridescent colors that seemed to dance and shift on its surface. There was something about it that compelled him, that drew him in, that enticed him to study it further until he suddenly heard his watch beep and he was shaken out of his trance and looked at the watch. He still had time but it was an alarm he'd put on his watch to remind him not to dilly-dally on his way to school. He laughed and turned it off and slipped the meteorite into his pocket and Tadamichi quickly resumed his walk to school. As Tadamichi neared the school gates he paused for a moment to pull the meteorite out of his pocket and admire it one last time before he smiled and tucked it back into his pocket and back out of sight. As Tadamichi continued forward and onward to class he felt a strange tingling sensation coursing through his body, as if an arm of ants was marching from his toes to his fingertips. He paused and looked himself over. Tadamichi didn't see anything so he shrugged and dismissed it and resumed walking inside.

Tadamichi arrived in class approximately a minute and a half behind his schedule but he wasn't actually late yet so he dismissed it and sat down. He tried to get set up for class but he felt...distracted and disoriented as if a thick layer of clouds had descended upon him and were now covering his brain to prevent him from thinking clearly. He lowered his head and placed his right hand on it. (Come on Tada! Come on! Focus! Focus! You can do this! It's just another school day! You're right on time! You're fine! You can do this! Get it together!) "Yo Tada! You good?" "Huh? Oh! Hamaguchi. Hi." He greeted him with a smile. "Hi yourself but are you feeling okay? You're usually way more ready for class." I'm fine...I'm fine. I must've slept wrong or something." "Let me guess: You were up too late thinking about the shower?" "I wasn't just thinking about it." He reached back into his pocket and pulled out the meteorite. "I found a souvenir." "No way! Shut up! You found one? Let me see~ Hey guys! Tada found a meteorite!" The rest of the class quickly gathered around him and they began looking at him and the meteorite and asking him questions. "Where was it? Where'd you find it? Is it really from the shower? Have you started studying it yet? You should show it to The Professors! It's so smooth! What kind of metal is that? Where are its cavities? Is it really a meteorite? Are you sure?" The conversation and chatter continued until The Professor cleared his throat and everyone immediately ran back to their desks and Tada and Hamaguchi both stood up and bowed with everyone else before they sat back down. Tadamichi briefly lost his footing on the way back down before he caught himself and sat down in his chair and handed up his homework. Tadamichi slipped the meteorite back into his pocket and he got ready for class on the outside but on the inside he felt a rising concern. (...What's happening to me?) Tadamichi pushed the thought out of his head and get ready for class but he found himself drifting in and out of class like he couldn't remain focused. The brain fog was getting worse and it was beginning to feel like his body was going on auto-pilot. The Professor was right there, he was right there with them, he was speaking, he was giving another one of his beautiful lectures to the class, but he was just so far away that Tadamichi couldn't hear him. Class was over by the time Tadamichi was able to snap out of his daze.

Class was over by the time Tadamichi was able to snap out of his daze. Tadamichi held his head in his hands and took a few deep breaths. Deep breaths. In and out and in and out again and again. Over and over. He felt awful. He needed to get up. He needed to go to the bathroom and get some water and wash his hands and splash some water in his face and do something, anything, but sit here and marinate in his misery. "Hey, Tada! Tada! You good, bro? Do you need anything?" Hamaguchi asked him gently. "I-I...I need to go to the bathroom! Cover for me if I don't make it back!" He told him while desperately digging into his bag and pulling out a small bag with a mask in it that he carried with him everywhere juuuussst in case. Tadamichi shoved the bag into his pocket and then he stood up. His legs felt wobbly and shaky, like they were trembling, so he had to grab onto his desk to steady himself. He took a few deep breaths again and managed to stabilize himself enough to stand up straight and then he walked out of the classroom. He was stumbling a little bit but he managed to get to the door and walk out of the classroom. "Tada! Hol' up! Guys! Cover for us!" Hamaguchi told the rest of the students and followed after his friend. "...What just happened?" One of the students asked. - Tadamichi stumbled into the bathroom and shut the door behind him and then he fell against the sink. "Huuuuuhhhhh....huhhhhhh....hhhuuuu-uuuhhhhh..." He groaned. He eventually managed to turn around and he turned on the sink and the meteorite fell out of his pocket and dropped to the floor. Tadamichi shoved his hands in the sink and sighed as the cool water cascaded downward and poured all over his hands. He let the miniature waterfall pour down cover his hands, cleansing him, cleaning his hands, and pouring and pooling all over his palms and between his fingers and all over the back of his hands up to his wrists and beyond them. The water was pouring down over his hands and soon became sudsy as he furiously scrubbed his hands in the sink. The sounds of the water and the soap were the only things that drowned out the rising pain and tingling sensation returning to his body. So he scrubbed and washed and rinsed more than he ever had before. He needed to wash away the pain and nausea and weakness and sickness to make it all go away. He needed to feel clean and pure again like he had last night when he watched the meteor shower. The water was warm and refreshing like a balm on his skin and he closed his eyes and did his best to focus on the sensation, to lose himself in the feelings of relaxation. As he stood there, the water coursing over his skin, the gentle pressure of the faucet massaging his skin. For just a moment all of his worries and cares seemed to melt away. The soothing balm of the water eased the tension in his body and he felt his breathing slow and deepen, his body relaxing into the tranquility of the moment. It was as if the water was washing more than his hands. It was now cleansing his entire being of all of the stress and anxiety that had been accumulating since his arrival at school began to fade away. He let his hands linger under the stream of water, feeling the tingling sensation of the soap and warmth working their magic. Tadamichi lowered his head towards the sink and he began taking the water and splashing it into his face over and over again and then he cupped the water into his hands and forced that into his face and he began rubbing it into his face until Hamaguchi barged into the bathroom. "Bro!" Tadamichi looked up at Hamaguchi. His face and hands and collar were all soaking wet from him desperately soaking his face in the sink. He'd even wetted his hair in his desperation! "Haaaahhh...Haahhh...Ha-Hamaguchi? Hey, how's it hanging?" "I should be asking you that. What the hell's wrong with you today?" "I don't know. I honestly don't know what's happening to me." He took a few deep breaths and let out a long exasperated sigh. "Ahhhh maaaan. I feel bad but...the water helped me a bit though. I think...I think I'll be alright. I just need to take it easy today." "Yeah, take it easy at home. You sure as hell aren't in any shape for class." "No...no I'll be alright. I just need to rest a little bit longer." "I don't know man..." "I'm fine, I'm fine, I'll be alright. I promise. I just need a little more time." Tada responded as he fumbled around for the paper towels until Hamaguchi handed them to him before he quickly stepped back. "Uhhh...listen before we talk anymore, do you have anything to cover your mouth with? No offense but I don't want whatever...this is." "Yeah, yeah, it's right here." He finished drying off his hands and face and then dropped the towels onto the sink and he pulled out his bag and took out the mask and he wrapped it around his face. "Better?" "Better....by the way, where's the meteorite?" "Uhhh...it's...it's...right there!" Hamaguchi stepped past him, knelt down and grabbed it with the paper towels. "Think this will fit into the bag?" Tadamichi calculated it in his head and then he nodded. "What's your plan?" "First of all? This is going into the bag because we have no idea what this is or if its doing this to you. Secondly we are taking this to the Geology Class and letting them take a look at it. I want to know what this is and they're better at figuring out rocks than we are. I'll hold onto it for safety reasons until then." "Okay...okay...yeah..cool." "Cool. Now come on, lets get back to class." "You got it...and..Hamaguchi?" "Yeah?" "Thank you man. Seriously." "What are friends for?" Hamaguchi responded and clapped him on the back and lead his friend back to their classroom to chill and resume their education. That was the plan anyway but the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry and Tada's sickness soon surged back up with a vengeance. He began fading in and out of consciousness and all of his classes began blurring in his vision and merging together. He couldn't make sense of them. He couldn't tell any of his classes apart from the others. His talks with his friends and classmates devolved into unintelligible gibberish. Tadamichi couldn't make heads or tails of any of it. He couldn't understand. He couldn't see straight. He couldn't hear them. Tadamichi continued to sway back and forth and back and forth in his daze in his seat until he fell over and collapsed into the bed in the nurse's office.

Hamaguchi waited patiently in the nurse's office while The School Nurse Mika Sakamoto looked over Tada until she finally stepped back and took off her mask and gloves. The young man timidly looked up at the beautiful long haired school nurse. Normally he'd be head over heels for a beautiful woman like her but his concern for his friend overrode that right now. "How's he looking? Any idea what he has?" "He's in rough shape. The poor kid has a high fever and he's coughing a lot. You said his symptoms just started today?" "As far as I know, yes. He was perfectly healthy yesterday and today he's just suddenly like this. Any ideas what's wrong?" "Hmmm. I can only make some guesses but it's clear he's contracted something nasty that might be beyond my ability to help. I'll do what I can for him but he's going to need to go home or to a hospital. Now listen to me, this is very important, do you have any idea what could have happened to him? Did he display any symptoms prior to today?" "No. As far anybody could tell he was healthy before today but...there is something. You know The Meteor Shower last night? Well, Tada said that he found something today. He thinks it's a small meteorite from the shower. Sure looks like it. Anyway. He said he found it on the ground just this morning. It's a longshot but it's the only link we have." "Hmmmm. It certainly is a beautiful rock and it certainly looks like a meteor. Lets see...meteorites normally aren't harmful to humans or terrestrial life so I can't imagine that something like that could cause all this trouble but if it's the only link we have then I recommend showing it to Mister Gotaro. Has anybody else touched it?" "Everyone in the class either poked at it or looked it over." He admitted. "But none of us are displaying any symptoms." "I see. Well, I wish I could help you kids, I really do, but my hands are tied. The only thing I can do right now is provide assistance and care to the sick and give advice like washing your hands on the way out. Meteorite Poisoning, or whatever this is, is beyond my abilities." "I understand. Thank you very much Miss Sakamoto. Please do everything you can for him." "Of course. Please take care of yourself as well." They bowed their heads to each other and then he stood up and looked over to Tada laying on the bed under the blanket with a wet cold cloth on his head as he gasped for breath. His face was visibly contorted in pain and he was clenching and unclenching his hands as he shifted in the bed. "Stay strong, brother, stay strong and get better." He told him quietly and then he walked out of the nurse's office pausing only to wash and sanitize his own hands before he exited and returned to the hallways to go find Mister Gotaro The Geologist and pawn this freaky rock off to someone who could figure it out.

Thankfully it didn't take him long to find Mister Gotaro. A tall stern man in a business suit who was currently in between classes himself. "Oh! Hey, Mister Gotaro! How's it going?" "Hm. Hamaguchi, right? Is there something I can help you with?" He revealed the meteorite in his pocket. "Would you be interested in examining a free meteorite? It's been previously touched, sure, but you have to admit that it looks out of this world." "I see. Where'd you get that?" "My best bro, Yanagimachi Tadamichi, is the one who found it somewhere outside. Here's the twist though: He just recently fell ill this exact same day. Seriously, he's currently in the nurse's office despite being perfectly healthy previously and I know it's all linked to this thing but I don't know how and...as far as I know? You're the most qualified person in the school to examine it. If you would like." "I see...now that is an intriguing mystery. Alright. I'll take a look at it for you." He accepted the bag from him. "I have no idea what I'm going to find but I'll keep in touch with you and let you know what I find." "Ahhh, alright, thank you so much sir." He bowed to The Professor. "Be sure to wash your hands on your way back to class just in case." "Yes Sir!" "Go on then. On with you now." He slipped the meteorite bag into his pocket and walked away. - As the school day continued onwards for everyone else, Tadamichi fought for his life. He wasn't fully aware of what was happening to him or what he was doing, all he knew was that he was feeling absolutely miserable right now. The burning pain consumed his body, his skin was slick with sweat and every uncontrollable cough that escaped his mouth sent waves of agony through his chest. He had no idea what this was, nor was he currently aware of where he even was, but he was stuck in this cycle of coughing, hacking and struggling to breathe while the pain continued to flare up inside of him. Sweat beaded on his forehead as he tossed and turned unable to find any respite from the relentless assault on his body. But it wasn't just physical agony that plagued Tadamichi. His mind was a battleground of fear and uncertainty with each cough serving as a nasty reminder of mortality's cruel grasp. He felt as though he was teetering on the edge of a precipice and staring into the abyss of unknown outcomes. That wasn't all though was it? No. No there was something else wrong. Something that wasn't right. There was something else here. Something in the room with him. Something that seemed to move just beyond his line of sight. He could almost hear it. It was quiet, faint, almost inaudible, but he could just about hear it. Whispers on the edges of his consciousness. Sinister rambling chattering whispering voices all around him that he couldn't understand. There were so many of them, too many, too many, countless voices chittering quietly. They were everywhere, all around him, all around the room, everywhere, everywhere, he couldn't see them but there had to be hundreds of them, thousands even, and he couldn't understand them or where they even were! Oh dear sweet God what was happening to him?! Where was he? Was he even still in the Nurse's Office? Was he moving? Yes, yes, he was moving! He couldn't see where he was being taken or if he was even sitting up or still laying down but he was moving now. Moving...swiftly? He guessed he was at least. So was he in a car? He couldn't tell. His vision was just so blurry and shaking. He couldn't make sense of anything around him. He just knew that he was moving forward now. Tadamichi felt like he was floating. Like his body was moving through the air without being connected to the ground...floor....bed? Wherever he was right now. After another fit of coughing and hacking he was left shaking and sucking in the oxygen around him in a desperate bid to breathe, to live! He was moving again. Not as fast now but he was moving now. Something was looming over him and lifting him into the air. It was a giant hulking shaking and trembling shadow was carrying him through the air. Who or what was it? He couldn't see it. He couldn't make sense of it. He couldn't understand it. This creature felt familiar but he couldn't place it. This featureless shadow was carrying him off somewhere and he had no idea who or what it was and the voices were still yammering away in his ears! Their words were still inexplicable and he couldn't understand anything of what they were saying but they were getting louder and louder and they were everywhere all around him! They were taunting him and he knew it. They were mocking him like a sinister chorus of ghosts. He wasn't moving now. He was laying down again...on a bed? He could only guess so but he couldn't tell where he was. Tadamichi continued to struggle uselessly against the sudden onset sickness that was overwhelming him now. He tried to call out for help but nothing came out of his mouth. He tried to move his arms but they were stiff as boards. His eyes shut and his body went limp. The voices all around him slowly gradually became quieter. Quieter, quieter, quieter, silent. The silence took him next and Tadamichi lay still in his bed until his eyes fluttered open again and he coughed a couple more times before his vision slowly came back to him. Tadamichi slowly climbed back up to his feet as he got a look at his new location. He wasn't in The Nurse's Office anymore. He wasn't even in his bedroom. Or a hospital or anywhere he actually recognized. As his vision returned and adjusted to his new location, Tadamichi was finally able to take a look at his new location and discovered that it was incredibly cramped. It was big enough to hold him, with a small spot for him to sit, but there wasn't anywhere to go or walk around. The walls and floor and ceiling and apparently the door were cold hard steel or at least they all felt like it but there were some kind of designs in them that he couldn't quite place. Some kind of intricate patterns that he couldn't quite make out. What was all that? For that matter, where was he? How the hell did he get in here? "Hello?" He asked timidly to nobody in particular. "Hello?" He asked again to no response. He took a few deep breaths before he called out in a louder voice to whomever may be listening to him. "HEEEEELLLLOOOOO? IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE? CAN ANYBODY HEAR ME? ANYBODY? IS ANYONE THEEEEERE? HEEEEELLLLLP!" There was a sudden noise in front of him and he stumbled backwards until he fell against the seat behind him and he stared ahead as a small window appeared in the door in front of him and slowly opened. Tadamichi gulped and then he slowly stood up and leaned forward to peer through the window to see an empty blank void that seemed to stretch on forever....or at least as far as he could see through the tiny opening in front of him. Tadamichi didn't have the time to even start to figure this out before something flew past the window and Tadamichi yelped and leaped back. More and more indiscernible shapes flew past the openings and they began to clump together in a giant writhing ball that slowly gradually coalesced into a mass of orbs that took on a vaguely humanoid shape that looked almost like...him! His hair, his face, his clothes...his glasses! "Wha-wha-wha...what...what the...what...what are...huhhhhh...ahba...ahba..huhhh...huuhhh..." He stammered out but he couldn't find any words to speak. The lookalike walked up to the door, the spheres that comprised its body rippled with every step until it reached the door and it stared into it. " Hello Yanagimachi Tadamichi." The creature spoke to him with what sounded like countless voices speaking in unison with it. The Voices from before! This...this THING is what was talking to him all that time?! "What...are...what are...you? P-p-p-please...please don't hurt me. Please..." " We have no need to harm you. We already have what we wanted from you." Tadamichi looked down at his hands and then back up at the creature and the realization quickly began to dawn on him. The meteorite, the nausea, the sickness, the voices, the creature taking his form..."My Body!" He realized. "You...you're from The Meteor!" He stood up and stared at the creature through the window. "You infected me when I grabbed it!" " That is correct. We have been taking over the bodies of the planet's dominant species since we arrived. Every time one of your people picked up or touched one of our traveling vehicles we have been infiltrating your bodies in order to utilize them." "..Utilize us? Oh...oh...Oh My God...you're trying to takeover the planet aren't you?" " That is correct. We are Xulidians. We are a Hivemind of an advanced intelligence with one goal: To spread throughout every species in the Universe. To bring you into our collective consciousness. To make you into us. All lifeforms in the Universe will be us. Your body is just another one we have picked up and the rest of your world will soon follow." "...What? What?! Are you serious?! WHAT THE HELL DID WE EVER DO TO YOU?!" " Nothing. This is just the natural way of life. Your body will be ours in a few hours. Do not feel fear Tadamichi. The rest of your world will join you within The Collective soon. Rest until then." The window disappeared and Tadamichi was once again lost in the darkness. "WAIT! WAIT! STOP! NO! STOP IT! STOOOOOOP!" he began futiley slamming and banging on the door in front of him while screaming at the top of his lungs. "STOOOOOP! STOOOOOOP! LET ME OOOOUUUUUT! DON'T DO THIS! DON'T DO THIS PLEASE! HEEEEEEEELLLLP! SOMEBODY HELP MEEEEEEEEE! PLEAAAASEEEEEEE!" He screamed before he slumped down to his knees and he began to audibly sob. " Please...please....somebody...anybody....save me."

"WAIT! WAIT! STOP! NO! STOP IT! STOOOOOOP!" he began futilely slamming and banging on the door in front of him while screaming at the top of his lungs. "STOOOOOP! STOOOOOOP! LET ME OOOOUUUUUT! DON'T DO THIS! DON'T DO THIS PLEASE! HEEEEEEEELLLLP! SOMEBODY HELP MEEEEEEEEE! PLEAAAASEEEEEEE!" He screamed before he slumped down to his knees and he began to audibly sob. " Please...please....somebody...anybody....save me." The Xulidians abandoned him to his imprisonment, venturing into the vast hivemind of The Collective. It was a realm reminiscent of an insect hive, an immense expanse of slimy green that was both eerie and insectoid in its design. This fleshy, biological nightmare of a world bore resemblance to insect hives, with smaller bugs scurrying in every direction. As the Xulidians strolled past them, they eventually converged with others in a grand central chamber. Now, the majority of the Earth Invasion Force Collective stood united, sensing the presence of their kin resting and awaiting the continuation of their infestation. They could feel each other's existence all across the globe, extending their minds beyond Earth's boundaries and connecting with The Greater Collective, where their kind thrived among the stars. They were simultaneously present on Earth and among the celestial bodies, communicating with one another and contributing to the expansion of their collective consciousness. ' The First Stage Of The Invasion Has Been Successful. Already We Are Sharing The Knowledge Of Our Hosts With The Collective.' They simultaneously spoke to each other in legion. ' Our Hosts Are Fragile But They Will Serve Their Purposes In Allowing Us To Blend In. We Will Commence The Next Phase: Resting And Continuing The Lives Of Our Hosts Until Our Strength Rises And We Spread Ourselves To The Others Of This Population. We Will Remain In Hiding And Prepare Ourselves For Any Sign Of The Auras. When One Of Us Notices Them The Rest Of Us Will Know Of Them. We Will Hunt Down The Hosts They Take And Slaughter Them. They Will Not Stop Us. This World Will Become Ours Like So Many Others. Commence The Infiltration.' With the meeting over, the Xulidians returned their attention to puppeteering their host bodies now that the actual minds of the hosts were locked away. The body of Tadamichi opened its eyes and slowly sat up into a sitting position. The body then reached out and removed the blanket covering its lower half. The body then turned aside and stood up and walked over to a mirror and blankly stared at its reflection for a moment before the body's face smiled and then it reached up and began wiggling its fingers and clenching and unclenching its hands before it began wiggling its legs and then moving around and turning its body as The Xulidians got used to how it worked. The Xulidans experimenting with the body was interrupted when Tadamichi's Father opened the door. "Tadamichi?" He asked quietly. "Are you feeling bett-Tadamichi?! You're up? Are you feeling alright my boy? Are you feeling any better?" Tadamichi's face smiled and his body raised its hands. "Hey dad!" The Xulidians manipulated his body to speak up in a cheerful, familiar, friendly tone of voice to his father. "How's it going? Sorry if I scared you." The hands were pushed together in a prayer-esque fashion. "I really don't know what came over me. But hey! Look at me!" The hands parted and the body twirled around and he shrugged his shoulders. "I'm already feeling better!" Tada's father quickly ran in and pulled his son into an embrace and Tadamichi's body laughed and patted him on the back. "Hey now, there, there, dad. I'm sorry I worried you."

"Yonezawa Masago here coming at you LIVE here with my friends and family as we eagerly await the shining light of the meteor shower!" "Coming at them live? Isn't this a recording?" Tahara pointed out to her. "Don't worry about the details." Yonezawa joked. "Anyway! The Astronomy Club and our friends and loved ones have assembled together for this momentous event! The meteors are going to light up the sky light they're going to light up our lives! We're going to capture everything, record it, get statements of others and write down our own thoughts on the entire event! This is going to be a memorable event and we'll capture all of it!" She turned the camera to her friends and mother. "Alright everybody! Lets introduce ourselves!" Everyone did as they were asked, going around one-by-one to introduce themselves to the camera and give their thoughts before it finally circled back around to Yonezawa. Yonezawa was so pumped full of energy and the meteor shower was so fresh in her mind that she quickly edited together the footage of the meteor shower night's events and then pounded out the entire write-up of the night's events like she was speedwriting a novel! Her write-up was so intricately detailed that readers would be left feeling like they were right there at the shower! Call Yonezawa a Space-Case all you want but when she started writing about space and celestial events she became far more eloquent to the point that you'd be forgiven for thinking that it came from someone else entirely. Her writing became that of an Akutagawa Prize Winning Novelist and just flowed onto the document as time swirled around her. She was finished before she'd even realized it and immediately saved the document and then she went back up to the top and reviewed the write-up carefully from the top to the bottom to ensure that it was the best she could possibly make it, carefully scanning it for even the smallest possible mistake until she was finally satisfied with the results. Then she closed it out and E-Mailed two copies to herself for storage and then she opened it back up again and hit the print button before she hurried back downstairs to wait in front of the printer. "Ha-ha-ha! Finished already dear?" "You know how I roll, mom! You get me going and I won't stop until I'm done!" She laughed. "Hey can I ask you to review it when it's out?" "Of course honey! I always love reading your write-ups!" She assured her. "YAAAAYYY! You're the best mom in the world!" The article finished printing and then she made sure everything was in order and ran back over to her mother and handed her the large handful of papers. Akari looked at the pile and laughed again. "Another novel dear?" 👍😁"Alright then. This should be good." Akarai mused as she settled comfortably on the couch. She initially began leisurely reading through the papers and quickly became engrossed into the narrative. Masago had, as ever, invested her soul into the manuscript, masterfully expressing her deep-seated bond with the stars, her intense yearning to wander among them and the intricate beauties of the cosmos. The vivid recounting of her emotions during the meteor shower, shared with friends, family and strangers alike, coalesced into an exquisitely detailed novel that captivated Akarai and held fast, pulling her into Masago's narrative and refusing to let go, as the reader's emotions surged with the influx of her passionate words. Once she finally finished the pile of papers and then she placed them on the table and pulled Masago into a hug. "That was wonderful dear. It was absolutely wonderful and beautiful. I loved it. I absolutely loved it. You're amazing Masa." "Awwww thanks mom! I know everyone at school's going to love it too! Thank you so much!" "You deserve all the praise darling. Now. Go on upstairs and get all of your stuff in order and prepare for bed. You have another big day ahead of you tomorrow!" "You've got it!" She carefully grabbed up her papers, kissed her mother's head and then she walked back upstairs as her mother laughed and waved to her. Masago laminated her paperwork and then put it all together with a large rubber band and then she packed up the rest of her belongings and then she shut her window and got changed into her pajamas and flopped on her bed. As she was relaxing and letting the day's events fade away, she let the sensation wash over her again. From a young age, she felt an inexplicable pull towards the stars, a gravitational tug that seemed to reach deep into her soul. The vastness of space called to her like a whispered promise, each flickering star a beacon urging her onward. It wasn't just curiosity; it was something deeper-a need to explore, to discover, to become part of the endless expanse that stretched beyond the confines of her Earthly life. She felt like the cosmos held secrets meant for her alone, waiting to be uncovered, waiting to give her life a meaning beyond anything she had ever known. She let those thoughts comfort her as she drifted off to dreamland once more.

She felt like the cosmos held secrets meant for her alone, waiting to be uncovered, waiting to give her life a meaning beyond anything she had ever known. She let those thoughts comfort her as she drifted off to dreamland once more. As she slumbered away ignorant of the currently ongoing extraterrestrial alien invasion around the world another threat loomed on the street below. An imposing man dressed in a dark navy blue hoodie worn over a black button up shirt and a pair of black jeans staring up her bedroom window. His body was hidden by the shadows of the night and his motionless state rendered him still as a statue. The only noise besides the wind blowing around him was his heavy ragged breathing as he slowly turned away from the scene and walked away down the street. She'd rejected his wonderful love letter, flaunted it and mocked it, belittled it, rejected him...but it didn't matter to him. He would make her understand soon and make the ungrateful child understand the intricacies of love. - Yonezawa Masago yawned as dawn broke through the windows and she dragged herself upwards to an upright sitting position. Yesterday's events were still fresh in her mind as ever. Sure there was that creepy ass letter but she'd taken care of that. What was really important to her was everything else that happened! All the fun she had in school with her classes, spending time with her friends, eating lunch with everyone, and especially the meteor shower! Celestial Events that are meant to be enjoyed with family and friends after all! Last night had been so incredibly awesome to her that she couldn't fathom of any way to surpass it! Not yet anyway. But she would definitely think of something in the future. She had plenty of time to come up with something after all. She yawned again and fumbled around to find her phone and turn it off until her hands brushed over a sheet of paper and she practically jumped out of her skin! "Yeep!" She squeaked and backed up across her bed as she slowly turned her head to look at the letter laying on the table. She slowly crawled across the bed and gingerly reached out for the letter with a trembling hand until she finally reached it and she grasped it and yanked it over to her and looked it over. Masago breathed out a huge sigh of relief. So it wasn't the creepy-creep after all. It was just her father being awesome. "Oh dad. You're so wonderful. Thanks a lot." She kissed the letter and set the letter back down and hurried out of her room to grab her morning shower. - She set her stack of papers on the table and retrieved an additional bag to carry them with and placed the stack of papers inside of it. With this all taken care of she sat down at the table and enjoyed a quick breakfast while she watched the video that her father sent her. - The scene depicted the business office that her father worked at and the phone was on the table before being directed to reveal her father's smiling handsome face. "Hello Masago." He spoke softly to the camera. "I just wanted to say I'm sorry that I wasn't able to be there with you and your mother at the shower tonight but I can still be there in spirit and join in on the festivities. I have something to show you. I know you're going to love it. I'll send it your way after I'm done." He rotated the phone to face the window and show the meteor shower. "I love you my daughter." - The video went on for a while before he ended it. Presumably to save battery before he texted it her way. Masago laughed and sent her father a couple of hearts followed by E-Mailing the write-up as well. "Ohhh man oh man oh MAN this is going to be such an awesome day!" She cheered. After enjoying her meal she washed her dishes and grabbed her bags and hurried out of the house.
