FROM THE FILES OF CIA DIRECTOR COUNTESS VALENTINA ALLEGRA DE FONTAINE.
THUNDERBOLTS RECRUITMENT CANDIDATES FILES.
CANDIDATE #1: FREDERICK JUSTIN DUKES.
INFORMATION: CANDIDATE POSSESSES FAR GREATER SIZE AND MASS THAN A NORMAL HUMAN, STANDING AT 231.14 CM TALL AND 322.504 KG YET POSSESSING FULL MOBILITY STEMMING FROM ABNORMAL MUTATIONS PRESENT FROM BIRTH.
CANDIDATE'S BODY APPEARS TO BE ALMOST RUBBERY UPON INSPECTION IN A WAY THAT WOULD NOT BE ACCOMPLISHED DUE TO SIMPLE WEIGHT. PARADOXICALLY THE CANDIDATE'S BODY IS ALSO CONSIDERABLY DENSER THAN A NORMAL HUMAN. THE EXACT SCIENCE BEHIND THE CANDIDATE'S STRANGE BODY IS AS OF YET UNKNOWN. HOWEVER IT HAS ALLOWED HIM TO EASILY DOMINATE NORMAL HUMANS IN COMBAT SITUATIONS.
CANDIDATE HAS DEFEATED NUMEROUS TRAINED FIGHTERS AND HIRED MUSCLE WITH EASE DUE TO HIS BODY HARMLESSLY REPELLING THEIR ATTACKS WHILE HE DEMOLISHED THEM WITH HIS SUPERIOR STRENGTH. PEOPLE STRUCK BY THE CANDIDATE RARELY GET BACK UP AND STUDIES ON THEIR BODIES REVEAL NUMEROUS BROKEN BONES AND SEVERE INTERNAL DAMAGE LEAVING THEM CRIPPLED FOR LIFE BARRING INTENSE MEDICAL PROCEDURES.
THEY HAVE THUS BEEN RECOMMENDED FOR THE PROGRAM.
IN ORDER TO FURTHER TEST THE CANDIDATE'S DURABILITY OPERATION: TRUCKER HAT WAS ENACTED TO CREATE A SEQUENCE OF EVENTS LEADING TO A TRUCK CRASHING INTO THE CANDIDATE AT FULL SPEED. THE TRUCK CRUMPLED LIKE AN EMPTY SODA CAN ON IMPACT WHILE THE CANDIDATE WAS UNHARMED AND SIMPLY WALKED AWAY.
THE CANDIDATE HAS PASSED EVERY 'TEST' WE ARRANGED FOR HIM WITHOUT HARM SO FAR. NOW COMES THE COMBAT EXAM.
WITH A COMBINATION OF SUBTLE HINTING AND SUBLIMINAL MESSAGING LEADING UP TO AN INVITATION WE HAVE SENT THE CANDIDATE INTO 'SUPER-BRAWL' AN UNDERGROUND CAGE FIGHTING PIT FOR SUPERHUMANS TO BRAWL FOR MONEY WHILE THE AUDIENCE CHEERS THEM ON AND GAMBLES ON THE RESULT.
WE STILL PLAN ON ARRESTING EVERYONE INVOLVED WITH THIS ILLEGAL UNDERGROUND ARENA BUT I PLAN TO USE THIS ARENA TO TEST THE CANDIDATE'S COMBAT CAPABILITIES AGAINST OTHER SUPERHUMANS.
ASSET JOHN WALKER IS STILL OUR TOP PRIORITY CANDIDATE AFTER HE FINISHES UNDERGOING OPERATION: LAZARUS BUT CANDIDATE BLOB'S RECRUITMENT IS STILL A HIGH-PRIORITY REGARDLESS. THE THUNDERBOLTS IS GOING TO NEED MUSCLE AND MUSCLE IS THE CANDIDATE'S SPECIALTY.
FURTHERMORE, AS I PLAN TO RECRUIT EMIL BLONSKY IN THE FUTURE, HAVING A WALKING TANK LIKE BLOB BY MY SIDE WILL BE VERY IMPORTANT. I'LL NEED SOMEONE WHO CAN TAKE A FEW PUNCHES.
I AM LEAVING NOW TO WATCH BLOB'S UPCOMING MATCH IN THE ARENA AND WILL GIVE MY FINAL SCORE ON THE CANDIDATE UPON MY RETURN.
SHOULD HE MATCH OR EXCEED MY EXPECTATIONS TODAY THEN I WILL EXTEND THE OFFER OF RECRUITMENT.

Clad in a classy elegant and attractive suit, Val took her seat in the stadium and relaxed while her contact lens cameras took in everything in her field of vision and fed the data back to The Government and S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Agents she had seated around The Stadium with her were doing the same. The plan to arrest everyone involved with this underground arena was already in place of course but if anybody escaped they would be easy to identify and capture in the aftermath. For now though she was content to sit back and enjoy the show. Dukes was the priority of course but the multitude of different fighters would serve as potential candidates as well. Besides, it would be easier to arrest the various fighters after they were all exhausted. A holographic screen appeared in front of her listing the names of the first two fighters. Joshua 'Brickwall' Waldemeyer and Frederick 'The Blob' Dukes. This was a curiosity. She had people investigating the sightings of The Brick Man and the disappearance of Joshua who'd vanished after an explosion involving experimental building chemicals but it was a surprise to learn that they were one and the same. * Looking over his image now the man was impossibly different from who he was as a human. From all indications the man was living organic bricks and mortar and building materials. Even in a world full of Superhumans and Gods this was downright bizarre. Curious. Val wasn't quite sure about his powers, what data she had on him was sparse but she had to assume Superhuman Strength and Resilience at the very least. It would be interesting to see what he could really do. Who knows? If he impressed her today she might just extend an offer to him as well. For now she placed her money on Dukes and waited for the matches to begin.

It would be interesting to see what he could really do. Who knows? If he impressed her today she might just extend an offer to him as well. For now she placed her money on Dukes and waited for the matches to begin. Fred Dukes meanwhile was hanging out in his room chilling out and waiting for the coming fight while eating from a pile of spicy fried chicken as he waited for the fight to begin. Literally picking the chicken up and throwing it into his mouth, chewing up the chicken, bones and all, and swallowing it down. He was a massive, MASSIVE young man, one of the tallest guys around in fact. He'd tower over the likes of Thor even if he was still smaller than Hulk's Incredible 8'2 (2.5m) height and he had the mass and strength to match his height. With his jiggly rubbery rhino skinned body he was basically invulnerable to everything he'd encountered in life so far and had easily overpowered everything in his path. While Fred still had his doubts he could compete with the likes of a Thunder God or The Angry Green Guy...they'd both dropped off the Earth, and that Super Saiyan Lady was off in Space, so Fred figured that made him the strongest man around by default until they came back and now was a good time to prove it by knocking the living hell out of whichever scrub he ran into out there, knock out the rest of the scrubs, get rich and then go out and have a big night on the town with a massive party for himself! Fred didn't think he'd be Avengers Material, it just didn't fit his personality, and they were more or less disbanded now anyway, but he knew that putting on a good show here tonight then word would spread out which would open some kinds of doors for him. He didn't know what doors of course but he knew with this many rich folks showing up then logically something would be bound to happen for him. - Joshua 'Brickwall' Waldemeyer meanwhile rested in his own room with his brick wall mouthguard wide open to reveal a wide open cavernous mouth full of brick-like teeth. He pushed bricks into his mouth, swallowed them whole, and absorbed them into his mass to grow bigger and bigger. He wanted to be as big and strong as possible to put on the best display he could. Joshua had always been small. He'd always been weak. A small weak little nobody pushed around by everyone, always looking up to the strong, the amazing, the fantastic, most notably The Avengers. The Rock Stars Of The Universe. The Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Amazing, fantastic, noble, heroic people who dedicated their lives to defending the Earth from forces of evil. As much as Joshua looked up to them he knew he could never be like them so he tried to make the world a little bit better in his own small ways, as painfully mundane as his life was. At lest until The Blip happened. One second he was going about his life after yet another alien invasion the next he was....dead? Disappeared? Comatose? He didn't know. He couldn't remember. Nobody could remember what happened when they were dusted. No afterlife, no sensation no....nothing. Nothing. Not anything. Just oblivion. When he came back his life was a mess. He'd lost his home, his job, so many were dead...Avengers were dead....the world was still struggling to get back on its feet after that...he'd bounced from oddjob to oddjob struggling to make ends meet until he finally found his lucky break supervising at a construction site where they were testing some kind of new building material chemical supplied by Hammer Industries. Everything seemed like it was going well until the chemical randomly exploded, burying him in its mixture and a massive wall of bricks! For the second time the world went blank for him until he woke up again now a shambling wondering aimless pile of bricks. Imagine his shock when he finally caught his reflection in a window! Mortified at his new condition, he spent months in seclusion and solitude trying to get used to it, reassembling and shifting around his brick body like Legos until he finally managed to make it look humanoid enough that he could start moving around normally and started getting used to his powers. Despite his initial shock and horror at his new condition, which still lingered on, Joshua slowly got used to it and discovered all of the incredible things he could do with his powers. Powers that used to get back at some of his old bullies to settle the score. Powers that he would demonstrate out on the arena today. Powers that would open the doors for his future. He might not ever be human again but if he demonstrated what he could do today to the whole world then word would eventually get back to The Avengers, whomever remained, and they would give him a home when they saw his power, his talent, his potential! He'd show them that he would be able to stand alongside the greatest heroes in history and finally turn his life around. All he had to do was win and that should be easy enough. After all, compared to what he could do, how strong could some guy called Blob be?

Certainly more ambitious than his Comic Version who just wanted to mess around with Baseball Games.

After all, compared to what he could do, how strong could some guy called Blob be? A tall handsome young man in a flashy bright red tuxedo over a white buttoned up shirt, a bright red facemask, clean pristine white gloves and a nice black bowtie on his neck, entered the room to the sound of triumphant jubilant music and flashing shining rights. The Announcer twirled around to smile for the audience and took a series of bows before he raised the microphone. "LAAAADIIEEEES ANNNNND GENTLEMEEEEEEN! HOW ARE YOU ALL DOING TONIGHT? WELCOME TO SUPER-BRAWL!" "HERE YOU WILL SEE SOME OF THE GREATEST BRAWLERS, THE PUNISHING POWERHOUSES, THE MOST MAGNIFICENT SUPERHUMANS WE'VE GATHERED FROM ALL AROUND THE WORLD WHO HAVE STEPPED UP TO TEST THEIR MIGHT AGAINST ONE ANOTHER FOR THE GLORY OF STANDING TALL AS THE BIGGEST AND THE BEST AND GOING HOME WITH A TROPHY AND A MAGNIFICENT GRAND PRIZE! WE'VE GOT FIGHTERS FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE LADIES AND GENTLEMEN SO LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED! IIIIIIIIN THIS CORNER! THE BRICKS THAT BREAK YOU, THE WALL THAT CANNOT BE SCALED, THE LIVING BUILDING BLOCKS, THE ONE MAN CONSTRUCTION AND DESTRUCTION CREW, BRRRRIIIIIICKWAAAAALLLL!" He called out and a light shined down on the other side of the arena as loud booming thunderous footsteps grew louder and louder and ever closer to the arena until a giant hand that was comprised of lines of bricks reached out of the doorway, then another hand, and then a giant man literally made of bricks stepped out of the doorway and rose up to his full height! Brickwall let out a loud roar as he stood tall and flexed his brick biceps to the cheering crowd. "Yeeeaaaah! Look at that man! Look at that monster! He's a wrecking machine!" "KICK SOME ASS, BRICKWALL!" "BREAK SOME BONES!" "SHOW US SOME BLOOD!" Val rested her cheek in her hand. (I don't know what I was expecting down here. Still, this is a perfect chance to see Titan #1 in action.) The announcer let them cheer and yell for a while more before he raised his hand. "YES! THE BRICKWALL IS A WRECKING MACHINE! YES! HE IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST BADASSES AROUND! BUT CAN EVEN HE STAND AGAINST HIS TITANIC OPPONENT?! IIIIIIIIIINNNNNN THIS CORNER! THE MASSIVE MOUND OF MENACE! THE MIGHTY GLACIER! THE THICK SKINNED BAD-TO-THE-BONE MAESTRO OF CORPULENT CARNAGE! THE IMMOVABLE MONSTER HIMSELF! LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, BRACE YOURSELVES, FOR THE BLOOOOOOOBBBBBBBBBBB!" The crowd went quiet as loud thundering steps echoed out throughout the arena. Whoever, or whatever was coming, was undoubtably huge and massive! Just as, if not moreso, than Brickwall! Every step the oncoming monster took was shaking the ground! A light shined down on the other side of the arena as loud booming thunderous footsteps grew louder and louder and ever closer to the arena until a giant, rubbery looking hand comprised of many sinister sausage sized fingers reached out, grabbed onto the wall and pulled the rest of the body and a massive, towering, mountainous man with a bizarrely rubbery, blubbery body stepped out and rose up to his full immense imposing height! While not as big as the likes of Hulk, this monster of a man could still tower over the likes of Thor! The crowd was in shock. Some of them were still cheering and yelling but it was tempered from the shock of seeing the staredown between these two titanic monsters! (And there's Titan #2. Show me what you can do, boys.) Val silently implored them with a smile. The Announcer waited until the crowd finished cheering and he waved his hand. "ALLLLRIIIIIGHT! ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT, ALRIIIIGHT! OUR BOYS ARE HERE AND YOU CAN FEEL THE TENSION IN THE AIR! THESE MEN ARE READY TO EXPLODE IN A DISPLAY OF CARNAGE AND RAW POWER THE LIKES OF WHICH YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN! WHO CAN TELL WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN IN THIS TITANIC CLASH?! BLOB! BRICKWALL! I WANT A NICE CLEAN AND BRUTAL FIGHT! SHOW US EVERYTHING YOU'VE GOT OUT THERE! LLLLLLLETS GET TO RUUUUMBLLLEEEEE!" The Announcer called out before he vanished in a flash of light to the cheers of the crowd! The fight was about to begin!

FINALLY UPDATED!

YES! Val silently implored them with a smile. "How ironic for a Brickwall to be stomped like a Vat of grapes." Blob chuckled. "What's your story anyway?" "I got buried in experimental building chemicals and a pile of bricks and I came out looking like this." Brickwall summarized. "How about you?" "I was born big and strong and weird but I really blew up when I hit my teens. Came out looking like this." Fred summarized. "But enough chit-chat! Lets throw hands!" "Works for me! SLEEP TIGHT!" Brickwall shouted and reeled back and threw a full force brick arm haymaker right at Fred at what had to be near point-blank range! A punch like this would've definitely splattered any normal human but against Fred it just harmlessly sank into his stomach like he was punching a massive pillow stuffed beanbag! Blob's body nullified all of the power right out of Brickwall's punch and left him confused and tilting his head. "Yo, what the actual hell?" "Yeah, sorry, that doesn't work on me." Blob taunted him and backhanded the snot out of Brickwall and sent him flying backwards across the arena! Brickwall was flung across the arena like a fastball until he smashed into the wall and broke apart into a pile of bricks! "Oh....oh...well...I, uh, wasn't planning to do that....huh." The crowd gasped in shock and horror and Val leaned forward in her seat. (Seriously? That was it?) After only a momentary pause however the brick pile suddenly floated into the air and reassembled into him! They took human form once more and Brickwall was back on his feet! Brickwall took a few seconds to check himself over before he laughed at Fred. "HA! Guess I should've mentioned: Putting myself back together was the first trick I learned!" "Woah! Now that's a cool trick!" The crowd went wild and Val smiled as her lenses continued to record everything. (Okay, yes, that's much better.)
