"You can relax, Kira, consider this a breather period till we meet up with the High Table representatives over in the United Republic." Han assured before relaxing against the booth. Kira didn't need to be told twice as she excitedly jumped from her seating position and landed on her knees, looking out at the awe inspired view of the ocean as the bullet train speeds along. She has never ventured beyond Hinansho, let alone without her crew, and the closest she'd ever view the ocean was from a high-rise hotel building whenever Misharo would conduct meetings with a Crime Boss.
A private carrier was arranged for the trip that way it would give Han time to process who is involved in the Blood Hunt and for Kira to enjoy this moment he knows she'll remember forever. Han's mind otoh wasn't on the scenery but of the event that is being set up. The Hunt hasn't started but it's already quite an impressive list of hunters who'd want to take John out. He can only imagine just how much that would dramatically increase once Carmella's name is in the mix. Part of him hoped that Carmella won't do what he knows she'll do but, as he mentions to Kira, what would he'd have done in this situation? Despite the coven's neutrality option he's not blind to the possibility that her death could mean an even more chaotic scenario. If his position didn't render him completely neutral, he would've personally had Seth clip Sevario so that John would have a chance to finish him off.
"You know Kuroneko, I've always wondered."
Han snapped out of his thoughts and glanced at Kira.
"OK, say this craziness never happened. Say you and John were to go at each other. Do you think you could take him?"
Han grinned in amusement, that was certainly a question he never expected that's for sure. "Hand to hand or all out?"
Kira shrugs. "Most likely hand to hand"
Han contemplated it. "Honestly, kind of complicated. Usually, I already have someone who'd do the job for me, yet in just a straight up fight? At our best? Not sure. But would be an interesting scenario that's for sure."
Kira laughed, straightening herself up and crossed her legs while resting her arms on the booth. "Figured that would be the response. Mine too."
She paused for a moment; her expression thoughtful. "If you don't mind me asking. Why do you associate yourself with a band of criminals?"
"Because, in my position, someone needs to ensure that things don't get too chaotic within the criminal underworld. Countless other innocents wouldn't get caught in the crossfire. Either by a rampaging madman or a meaningless gang war. The moment someone steps out of line then one way or another they'll fall back in line."
"Would someone consider you rubbing arms with bad guys a slippery slope"
"Now you're speaking semantics. The way I see it Kira, there are no good, bad, or neutral individuals. Just people acting upon their basic motivations. Take you and your girls for instance. Some would consider you guys bad news. Yet neither of you target innocents and you protect people your own way. May not be suitable for some but there are some creeps who deserve to be taught a lesson."
"Big time" Kira smiled.
"And regardless of what some may think of my methods. What I do, I do to ensure that neutrality is ensured. If you want results, you find suitable there are times, you'd have to get your hands a little dirty to do it. By tonight, you'll see this lesson come into play"

"Oh it can be, don't get me wrong, I've rubbed shoulders with some of the scariest and most intimidating men, women and otherwise around the world , worked with them and learned from them, but's an entire world out there, Kira, these people aren't good people, they've done a lot of bad things, but the higher ups, the elites, are all focused on the same thing: They want order. They want organized crime to continue operating fluidly and efficiently. Anybody who tries to go on a blind murder spree or tries to start up some mass chaos gets smacked down real quick." "That's pretty cool." Kira agreed. "But what about you? What happens if someone targets an Adjudicator?" "Only if they're tired of living. Nobody targets an Adjudicator. If you do you're signing your own Death Warrant and it's open season on them as much as it is on John and Carmella if not worse. The Big Red Button gets pressed and everyone associated with The Table will devote their resources to hunting down the killer and making an example out of them." "Like I said before....scary. Scary but understandable. You don't fuck with a Messenger. When someone shows up and asks to Parlay? You play nice and hear them out unless they step out of line first." "A surprisingly well thought out response, Kira, I'm impressed." "Mashiro's taught me a lot in the years we've known each other."

Without warning Kira leaped over the table and glomped him in a affectionate hug" "You got it, Han! I'll do my best! For our future, for the future of Hinansho and the future of The Hell Butterflies!" She promised and sat back. "The Devil Child Kira Hikaru will gladly act as your Right-Hand to keep crime in check so that there may never be another Suko!" "The Devil Child, huh? Quite the intimidating title. You should use it more often." "I have been considering doing just that for a while now and it's well past time I make that title my own. This seems like a good time to start." "I like it. If you don't mind me asking though, where did you get such a title?" "That's...a bit personal. I'll tell you about it later after our assignment." "Understood. I won't press for information until you feel comfortable telling me. Back on topic, I love your enthusiasm. Lets work together for the future of the world." "For the future." They fist bumped on it and Han raised his hand to signal for drinks. (EEEEEEEEEEE! MASHIRO IS GONNA BE SO PROUD OF ME I CAN'T WAIT! MASHIRO AND I MIGHT FINALLY GO ON A DATE AFTER THIS! I CAN'T WAIT!) Kira was all smiles. After all these years of hard work she was about to take her first steps into The Big Leagues, protect the safety of Hinansho and the World, and The Hell Butterflies' reputation would shoot through the roof into the stars and it all started right here working together with Kurosawa Han!

A voice on the intercom mentions they're a few minutes towards their destination. Han continued enjoying the overview of the city, marveling at the way the lights shined like Christmas lights. It isn't often that he'd travel to The United Republic and whenever he'd get the opportunity he's always impressed by how breathtaking it looks. If this wasn't a serious occasion he'd most certainly take his family with him. Speaking of business, "At the gathering, you will be introduced to some high-ranking members of the vampire council. There are a few key ones you should take note. The Lord Ruler, her real name is irrelevant, when you speak to her you call her Lord Ruler. When she asks you a question, you tell the truth. Fewest words you can. If you provide a good impression that will give you a bump up among the vampire community. Then you have Darius, the moment you lay your eyes on him you may feel a sense of unease. It's natural, he has been around for a very long time and vampires at that age tend to have that effect. But NEVER show fear. They will lock on it if they notice. Think about your girls, think about your leader, think about why you're here. That should give you enough mental motivation. Also, keep your mind clear. Now there is another associate that is usually with them. Her name is Hannah. No relation to a certain chaotic little sis back home. Treat her no different than how you'd treat me. If you get on her good side then you get on Darius's good side" Han's cell phone started to buzz, he answered it and sees a message from his Chaotic Little Sister Note: Just a reminder she's having a sleepover with Toki, Rin, Hawk, Amaya, Malty, and Ichika at the Battosai Estate

That was on me for getting Hana and Hannah confused. "Okay this is certainly a lot to take in but I think I can handle it....I know you're putting a lot of trust in me and...and I think I can do it. I know I can. I just have to focus." Kira replied while writing all of this down. (Alright. Alright. Time to focus. Time to focus. Focus. Focus. Focus on Mashiro. Mashiro. Mashiro...Mashiro and The Gang and everyone. The Hell Butterflies. Our territory. Our friends. Focus on the girls. Focus on Chidori. Fighting Chidori. Focus on Kurosawa Hana. Focus on Inspector Maki. Focus on Butterflies. Focus. The Butterflies. That's it. You've got this.) She sighed and relaxed and opened her eyes to get ready for the meeting and she began re-reading her notes. Han answered the phone and gave her a call. "Hi Hana! How's the sleepover going?" "Going great! Everyone's anticipating the big event but we're hunkered down safe and secure! Are you there yet?" "Not just yet. We're almost there and will be soon." "Good to know...just be safe, okay? Both of you. Come back alive big bro." "I will Hana. Don't you worry. I always come home and I always will. It's just another big business meeting." Han assured her. "You want to say hi to Kira?"

I shall risk life and limb (Probably literally) to return him to Hinansho alive and well! I swear it on the name of the Hellfire Butterflies!" "I thought I was Kuroneko." Han joked. "Hence the -Sama Suffix. God level powers, bro!" "Of course. Be sure to use those divine powers to keep everyone safe, alright sis?" Han asked her. "Sure thing. Nothing's gonna happen while I'm around, bro. I love you guys." "Love you too." Han assured her. "Back at ya." Kira assured her. "Keep an eye on everyone, alright? And tell Chi-Bird that she owes me a fight when I get back." "Trust me. She's already looking forward to it."

"Out of curiosity who are you rooting for?" Han asked Hana
"Is that even a question, Big Bro?! Because the answer is obvious. Besides. Chidori said that she wants a one-on-one session with Carmella when things calm down"
Kira's eyes widened at that while Han just laughed. "Tell her, it's a date"
After Han hanged up, Kira asked Han. "Do you think she can take her?"
"With Chidori, it's not about winning or losing. Its about seeing if she's capable of hanging with her in combat" Han responds
Kira rubs her chin (I should inform Mashiro. she'd totally want to check that out!)
Han's cellphone buzzed again, he glanced down and noticed that it's from Seth. He brings it to his ear and answered. "Talk to me"
His expression turned deadly serious when he got confirmation that Carmella, due to her aiding John, has put her name in the Blood Hunt. He nods and pressed the number to the organization. "Account pin, 05261897. In addition to John, Exalted. In thirty minutes. Carmella Quan Sun"
Note: Genius Bonus. The Account number is the date in which Bram Stoker's Dracula, the novel was published.

Han nodded sighed and lowered his phone. "Carmella has officially joined The Blood Hunt. She's part of this now with John." "Is the rest of The Coven getting involved?" "Not so far. They'll probably stay out of it but things definitely just got a whole lot more complicated." Kira paused to consider everything before she talked again. "Hey, so, uh, is this going to get politically complicated? I don't know about everything going down between The Covens and the big guys but...well...if this was Gang Related, which is my world, and a big player from one gang got involved in a turf war, and that person was popular with everyone, and something happened to them, then there would be severe consequences all around. I can't even imagine how crazy things would get between her coven and their allies and the big players....right?"

Han nods in agreement, rubbing the bridge of his nose before relaxing in his seat. "What happened with John that led to the situation he and Carmella are in now. The way I see it, was bad business. While I may not know the two of them personally I know enough about them to know they're survivors like us. And what do survivors do when they're in a situation where they have their backs against the wall? They'll do whatever they can to ensure whomever or whatever put them in that situation is eradicated completely.
It's that fact alone that ensures The Red Dragon's confidence in her. Yet, despite that I know they have their share of outside parties to operate as shadow agents to ensure their chances of survival without breaking any rules. Just as I have outside parties to ensure innocents unaware of this event won't get in the crossfire"
Kira nods in relief at that, yet there's something about Han's earlier comment that caused her to take pause. "Um. If you don't mind me asking, when you mentioned that you once were in a situation where your back was against the wall. What situation was that?"
He was only around the same age as Hana yet when other kids were supposed to still be basking in that era of innocence his memory recalled to a particular event he had rried to have boarded up and sealed tight. A scared kid alone in a dark cave, trapped by a clan of feral vampires.
He balled his fist when he felt it shaking then relaxed his hand when it settled. Took a long breath then exhaled, "Long story, I'll tell you later"

Took a long breath then exhaled, "Long story, I'll tell you later" Kira naturally noticed this but decided to wait until Han was ready to tell her about it. "Sounds like we've both looked into The Abyss, eh? It affected us both but I think we came out the other end of those experiences stronger from it. I'm not going to push, Han, we can talk all about it when you're ready. Just know that I'm right here with you and we're in this whole thing together." "Same with your situation. Thanks a lot, Kira." "You know I got your back, Kuroneko." She responded with a smile and they quietly fist bumped. As she began to relax back in her seat however a thought began to occur to her. She pointed to herself, then to Han and then began counting on her fingers while wordlessly mumbling to herself. "Uh, hey, Kira? Is everything alright?" "Hmmm...no...I was just wondering...what are the odds of all of us finding each other?" She pondered. "You, me, Chidori, Hiro, The Battousai's, Suko's bitch-ass, I'm sure that Mashiro has some skeletons in her closet she hasn't even told me about, heck all of the girls do, then there's the other big players in Hinansho that I haven't even met...what I'm trying to get at is...do you think there's something....up with Hinansho? I mean...like how Shepard is a...a..." she began snapping her fingers. "What's the term?" "A magical leyline crossroad focal point?" Han asked as he began to get on the same page as Kira. "Yeah! That! Do you think Hinansho might be something similar? Like, Shepard's a Supernatural HotSpot, right? Supernaturals will cross the world to settle down in that town. What if Hinansho has something similar to it? Something that attracts extreme personalities?"
