Crystal Vineyard Ashbourne hummed to herself while she walked through the aisles of Smart Mart alongside her husband Krauser. Her bright red ponytail bobbing as she walked. This weekend had been a long time coming. They'd planned and waited for it for weeks and now they finally had the free time to have the weekend to themselves. It was going to be a nice relaxing three day weekend at Krauser's Cabin and she intended to make the most of it. Just sitting back, kicking up their feet and taking a load off for the weekend. No work, no stress, nobody else around. Just the two of them relaxing. Not that work was particularly stressful for either of them but they were still looking forward to getting away from it all for a couple days. Plus, Crystal had a fantastic Chili Recipe she'd been dying to try out. So on top of the usual belongings they were packing for the trip she would needSirloin, Cumin, Paprika, Cayenne, Onions, Green Peppers, Garlic, Black Pepper, Basil, California Chili Powder, Gebhardt Chili Powder, Hot New Mexico Chili Powder, Tomato And Tomato Sauce Cans, Dark Red Kidney Beans, Brown Sugar, Tabasco Sauce, Grated Cheese And Oyster Crackers. By combining these ingredients with The Guatemalan Insanity Peppers she knew she could make a killer Chili Recipe that would blow Krauser's mind!
"Looking good, looking good," Krauser plucked another one of the ingredients off of the shelf. "I can already tell you've got something special in mind."
"Trust me sweetie it's going to be straight fire."
"That's hot." He leaned down and their lips met momentarily but long enough for the sparks to fly from them both until they parted. Crystal took one hand off of the cart and placed it on his while Krauser turned his hand around and held it gently.
Even in his goofy bright red Hawaiian shirt and plain, unassuming Khakis combo her tall, handsome husband was the epitome of manliness and everything she loved after all their years together and everything they'd seen, faced and overcome together with his light brown parted hairstyle, long bangs for slicking back and side bangs, pretty boy face and toned muscular physique. This made him a wonderful match for Crystal's hot pink t-shirt and blue jeans. As much as they loved wearing their suits it was nice to just go casual once in a while. Crystal even changed her usual hairbun into a long braided ponytail for the coming weekend. Her Ocean Blue eyes staring out at the world from behind her fancy glasses.
"Oh trust me sweetie. You don't know the half of it. Once you see what I'm cooking up you're going to be spitting fire!"
"Wouldn't be the first time." Krauser reminded her.
They laughed at their little in-joke and continued on through the store while the department peppy cheery store music played overhead.
"That reminds me do you think there will be any unplanned entertainment this weekend?" Crystal asked him.
"As much as I would love that I'm hoping this weekend will be just the two of us. We're technically retired after all. We might as well live like it." Krauser replied with a shrug.
"Hmmmm you're right. If anyone is stupid enough to try and mess us at the cabin, after all this time, we'll deal with them but in the meantime we'll just embrace our weekend break. We'll roast smores, we'll read together, we'll fish, we'll walk in the woods and I'll laugh at you panicking from the chili."
"Oh it's like that is it?"
"Ohhh it's like that."
Krauser laughed and picked his wife up and laughed as he twirled her around not even caring who saw them in public like this. The two were undoubtably, undeniably, eternally in love and always would be. He set her down after and they hugged each other briefly before they parted and returned to their shopping trip.
