The Research Lab Of Evolved Biology And Advancement Of Physiology Beta Site is a beautiful laboratory to work in. It's clean and sterile and beautiful with cutting edge technology and a futuristic aesthetic straight out of sci-fi film! All of the employees are kind, smart and professional always working with big smiles on their faces putting forth a real sense of camaraderie with each other that really helps you feel like you belong there. Like you're part of a family working on fantastic projects to advance and improve the lives of your fellow man and the world you all live in together. But that is only for the Upper Levels down to The Basement. It's everything below The Basement, The Sub-Levels, where the real horror of The Research Lab takes place. Where civilians are abducted and brought to The Underground Labs through various tunnels for Advancement. Advancement being a more polite way of saying Unwilling Cyberization. In order to create Cybernetic Super Soldiers under the greater control of The Syndicate, captured civilians are subjected to a painful process involving injections with Super-Mutant DNA and extensive Cyberization Surgeries entirely without anesthesia but rather a special chemical that leaves them paralyzed but still able to feel everything the scientists put them through. After the full cyberization process is completed the final step is modifications to their brains to erase traces of their humanity and turn them into The Syndicate's Loyal Soldiers. Nearly everyone working upstairs is secretly in the know about what really goes underground in these research sites but keep silent about it. But for those who aren't in the know they're kept in the dark about it. In the event that they stumble upon the secrets of the research lab they are detained, taken to the lab and all information about them is quietly erased.
It is here, in Sub-Lab C, floating in a Vat with an oxygen mask and helmet strapped to his head, dressed in white hospital fatigues, is where we find one Maverick King. An upstanding citizen of The Crumbling No-Man's Land City Of Grimmingville. A promising young man who carried the weight of the whole world on his shoulders to help everyone he could with whatever problems they had that day or even if it was something minor. In a city gripped by negativity and fatigue, his seemingly unlimited love and compassion for the world around him served as a shining beacon of hope. The whole reason he even got involved in all of this is because he responded to an advertisement to participate in an experiment for money which he planned to send to a local church to help them out. Now this promising young man was floating in a tank of fluids as his body adjusted to his changes and the computer finished its brainwashing program. The words Super Augment Prototype #0001 Skull written on the plaque in front of the tank.
But this is not a story about how a poor young man had his life stripped from him to become The Syndicate's Super Soldier Slave.
This is the story of how Maverick King became a Superhero.
As the sun set over the grimy, gritty city of Grimmingville, Maverick King's day was far from over. The young hero had spent the better part of his day helping the citizens of the city, whether it was patching up a leaking roof or diffusing a tense situation between warring gangs. His patented 'Maverick-Fu' was known throughout the city, and even the toughest of thugs knew better than to cross him.
But as the shadows lengthened and the streets grew darker, Maverick's resolve only grew stronger. He knew that for every problem he solved, another one was waiting just around the corner. And yet, he never grew weary of his mission. He was the guiding light for the citizens of Grimmingville, a beacon of hope in a city that often felt lost in despair.
As he walked through the streets, Maverick couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in his work. Sure, there were times when he wished he could just live a normal life, free from the dangers and hardships of his city. But deep down, he knew that wasn't who he was meant to be. He was meant to be a hero, and he would continue to fight for the people of Grimmingville until the very end.
Despite the challenges he faced, Maverick King remained undeterred in his mission to make Grimmingville a better place. His unwavering dedication to the people was what set him apart from other heroes. He understood that being a hero wasn't just about putting on a costume and fighting crime; it was about making a difference in people's lives. And so, he continued to work tirelessly, always looking for new ways to improve the city he loved.
One day, while patrolling the streets, Maverick stumbled upon a group of young children playing in the alleyway. They were barefoot, dirty, and hungry, their laughter echoing off the concrete walls. Maverick approached them cautiously, not wanting to scare them away. When they saw him, their faces lit up, and they ran towards him, eager for his attention.
"Are you here to play with us?" one of the children asked, a small smile forming on his dirty face.
Maverick knelt down beside them, his heart warmed by their innocence. "I'm always here to play with you, my friends," he replied, ruffling their unkempt hair. "But first, let's get you something to eat, okay?"
With that, Maverick disappeared into the shadows, only to reappear a moment later with a bag of hot dogs and buns. The children's eyes widened in surprise and delight as he handed them each a hot dog, complete with mustard and ketchup. As they ate, Maverick watched them closely, a contented smile on his face. In that moment, he knew that his work was worth it, and that he would continue to fight for the people of Grimmingville, no matter what challenges lay ahead.
As the sun began to rise over the city, Maverick found himself sitting on a rooftop, watching the world wake up. He had spent the night patrolling the streets, making sure that everyone was safe and sound. It was exhausting work, but it was his life, and he wouldn't have it any other way. As he looked out over the city, he felt a sense of pride and accomplishment wash over him. Yes, Grimmingville was a tough place to live, but it was also home to some of the bravest and most resilient people he had ever met. And as long as he was there, they would never have to face their challenges alone.
Tall, with a chiseled jaw and piercing blue eyes, Maverick was known for his striking looks. However, his true beauty lay in his unwavering determination to uplift his community. He spent his days tirelessly helping those in need, dispensing kindness like a rare currency.
Maverick's heart overflowed with empathy for the downtrodden. He provided hot meals at the local shelter, organized clothing drives, and even offered free self-defense classes for vulnerable citizens. His selflessness knew no bounds, his actions a stark contrast to the darkness that engulfed the city.
Word of Maverick's selfless acts and exceptional combat skills spread like wildfire amongst the citizens. Whether he realized or not, he was becoming a symbol of hope and a guardian for those who had lost faith in the decaying city they called home. People started referring to him as the "Savior of Grimmingville."

"So that's him, huh?" The scout asked her partner as they studied him from a distance. "Doesn't look too impressive. He's a hard worker but surely there were other more worthy candidates we could be tracking."
"It's not our place to question orders. We're just here to study and scout him. Is everything prepared on your end?"
"Yeah, it took some time but I've been uniting the gangs together. We'll see the true extent of his combat skills soon and report back. If everything checks out then we'll bring him in."
"Excellent. We'll continue to observe him until then..."
