They had shared enough years and enough nights to read each other like open books. Carmella's reputation was a shadow that loomed over this moment, her relentless crusade against the remnants of Equilibrium's cult not easily forgotten. Izumi assured Nora that Carmella had softened, but Mia was the closest thing Carmella had to a younger sister. It wasn’t a risk worth taking. "Don't tell Carmella, please. At least not until the ones responsible are apprehended." Izumi nodded, considering the request carefully. "For Amelia’s sake, I’ll honor that. But you should know, if she asks about Mia, I won't lie to her. I can’t." Nora sighed, her shoulders relaxing slightly. "As a mother myself, I understand."  The Clock TowerAmelia, Dante, and Stephen descended down the stairs. Her phone buzzed and read a text from Morgaine that informed her that she and the other Roses are arriving soon. "They're on their way" she informed Stephen and Dante Annabelle let her rest for a moment before she slowly opened the door and stepped inside to greet her. "Hey Nora." "Oh hey Anna! How's it going?" "I'm doing just fine. You're the one I'm concerned about. I heard everything about what happened." "Ah, you were listening?" "Heard about it through the grapevine and then the phone call. I didn't want to interrupt." The Oldschool Super Soldier stepped in and gave her friend a comforting hug that Nora gently returned. It felt good. It felt really good. Thanks to talking about her problem with Izumi and now getting a comforting hug from a close friend she could feel her worries finally starting to wash away. "Thanks a lot. Needed this today." "I've always got time for a friend." Annabelle assured her as they parted. "Heh. That's my girl. It's jut been a rather intense day." "I don't blame you. No real mother would ever want to see their daughter hurt. But she's going to be fine. She's going to heal and come back stronger from this. I'm sure that the Roses are on their way over there now and Poison-Girl will have something to fix her right back up." Annabelle assured her. "Honestly? I admire your restraint in this matter." - "Then lets go on down and meet our wealthy friends." Stephen stated as they continued to descend the stairs. The Diamond Roses pulled up just as they reached the first floor and the door opened to reveal the trio standing together clad in their fancy suits. "Good day everyone. Lets get to work." Morgaine informed the team. Rosie quickly crossed the distance between herself and Amelia while reaching into her vest. She held out a vial with the medicine inside of it first. "Hey Amelia! We got here as quickly as we could. Don't you worry about those owies. We'll have you fixed back up in a minute. First, drink this and then I'll apply the ointment." Ruby St. Clair meanwhile walked over to a set her violin case down on it, opened it up and retrieved her violin and bow. She began playing out a wonderful, beautiful and heartfelt violin piece that put everyone in the room at ease. An effect that was amplified further by her Sonokinesis. The beautiful melody echoed through the clock tower as Morgaine approached Dante and Stephen. "So what do we know about the people responsible?" Granite and Jetstream. A couple of poser Paragons as far as Dante is concerned. Amelia's recurring bullies who had it in for her the moment they discovered 1. She's a Mundane & 2. She wants to be a Paragon. At first it started with your typical bully tactics like name-calling and pestering her at improper times. Then it went up to intimidation, trying to make her give up her goal in being a Paragon. When that didn't work they went straight to physical intimidation. "My one regret I have is not getting to those assholes sooner. Those cowards always try to get to her whenever she's by herself" Dante scowled The combination of the medicine and the music helped calm her aches and pain and she can feel her injuries healing. She felt a gentle hand from Rose, "Little Rose, you mentioned something about another individual who orchestrated the attack" Amelia froze, her mind flashed back. She remembered being cornered by Granite and Jetstream when she tried to escape. She also noticed one of the mentors watching from a distance. Her bottom lip quivered and she hugged herself, "Please...Don't make me relive it" |

"You're safe here. You're safe. We want to help you and we will. But we need to know who was behind this so we can bring him to justice." She knelt down to Amelia's level and looked her in the eyes. "You're safe here. You're among friends and nobody is going to hurt you here. Just take a deep breath, relax, let Ruby's music soothe your mind and tell us what happened. Just relax. There you go. Just like that. It's okay Amelia. We're all here for you and we're going to make this right." |

Ugh dear readers I am sorry but this isn’t hitting it with me. I am all for characters delivering justice but I am not feeling the whole one sided beatdown angle. I’m not feeling any of this!
I want to provide an engaging story but if a story isn’t that then I have no choice but to scrap this. It’s not fair to the readers or myself to provide you something that my heart isn’t into. Sorry😔

I understand and accept your decision. But we can use it as inspiration for another story and place it in storage for now.
