Authors Note: All Amelia North wants to be was a Paragon like her older sisters and Mother. Despite the fact that the bulk of the Paragons have powers and she doesn’t. There’s also the looming threat of those who’d seek to ensure she doesn’t succeed in her dream.
Does Amelia have what it takes to become the Paragon she desires to be?

PrologueTrigger Warning (References towards bullying)
The rooftop of the clock tower, a relic of a bygone era amid the city's technological marvels, offered a panoramic view that was breathtaking. Amelia North and Stephen Hawthorn sat perched on the ledge, legs dangling over the edge, the hum of the city below like the heartbeat of a giant beast. It brought a rather peaceful serene that Stephen noted, it was almost enough for them to forget what transpired a few hours ago. Almost.
Stephen glanced at Amelia, who watches the view of the city in silence. She sported a nasty looking black eye as well as a split lip thanks to a couple of Mundane Hating assholes. Her gaze fixated on the mesmerizing lights while she took a sip of her soda. No matter how much she tries to move past it what she went through still haunted her.
Stephen reached for the extra soda next to him and he gently placed it on Mia's eye. She sighed, enjoying the way the cold touch of the bottle hit her skin. Mia was used to bullies her whole life. Ever since she was a little kid she'd get bullied because of who her mother and sisters are. But when she was diagnosed as a Mundane that is when the bullying got worse. The name calling, being shoved into lockers, having your backpack get stolen, but she took all of that grief and turned it into fuel for her to achieve her dream. But recently, this was different. This isn't kids being assholes. It was by the hands of an authority figure. Someone who was supposed to protect students from situations like this. She saw it in that monster's eyes. She was cornered, she couldn't escape, all she could've done at that point was scream.
"Leia?" Stephen whispered, reaching over to run a hand through her hair.
Amelia shook her head; she can feel tears threatening to come out, but she blinked her eyes. She isn't going to give them the satisfaction of making her feel like this.
"I still say we should hunt that son of a ***down" Dante Serafino says behind them as the taller teen paces back and forth, looking like a wolf in protective mode towards his younger pack mates.
"Don't Dante...Please" Amelia's voice broke at the last one

"Don't Dante...Please" Amelia's voice broke at the last one As much as I am with Dante on this one, fry 'em, it's still all good to respect Amelia's wishes on the subject and just be there for and comfort her in her moment of need. It is a bit weird that the idiots would go after someone from an elite superhero family like The North Family but then...bullies are well known to be assholes for the sake of it and picking on an easier target instead of trying to stand up against the powerhouses just proves what shameless cowards they really are. It's still sad that Amelia had to go through that though but at least she has her friends by her side to help her climb back up on her feet.

Dante is usually the most stubborn out of the three. Whenever he has his mind set on something he'll be sure to set out in doing it. And right now he wants the blood of the ones who hurt Little Red. But this was one of those once-in-a-lifetime moments where he reined in his anger for Mia's sake.
Amelia took another sip of the soda, enjoying the feel of the cold liquid running down her throat and the fizz behind it making her feel tingly inside. She felt Stephen wrap a comforting arm around her and she leaned into it, enjoying the comfort he was giving her.
"You don't need to be strong on our account," Stephen says soothingly as he waits for Amelia to calm herself.
"I...I thought they were going to kill me" Amelia's voice quivered. Dante crouched down and placed a hand on her shoulder gently. Who knew the most badass of the Paragon Trio had a gentle side?
Amelia shook her head, "We can't just hunt them down like an animal. Regardless of what they did, it's not the Paragon way."
“And you guys say I’m the stubborn one.” Dante scoffed but Mia just reached back and cupped the side of Dante’s face.
Mia had known Dante and Stephen ever since they were kids. Despite their different backgrounds and motivations they each shared a bond that would never be broken. And this recent incident just increased their relationship.
Note: Apologies for the short update as it's late but I thought this was a good way of how Mia would respond to her situation. Despite what she went through she still stuck to her principles. Because I've grown tired of the constant narrative that modern writers make these so-called heroes just a bunch of alpha bullies. Looking at you MCU.

Like, Doctor Strange literally put a curse on a completely innocent man in The MoM Movie to beat himself up for a week and they played it for laughs! That's like something out of The Boys! Don't even get me started on him and Peter being down with mindwiping the entire planet! OUR HEROES EVERYONE! So yeah, I can definitely see where Amelia's coming from on wanting to spare them. She's stronger and better than they'll ever be anyway! She'll be the one looking down on them anyway when she reaches her potential and becomes the Heroine she's always been destined to be anyway. She's right: Hunting them down and smiting them is not what Paragons are supposed to be. Although they should still be arrested for assault and battery regardless.

She stared at it for a moment before she slowly reached out to pick it up and looked at it and braced herself for whatever it could be. Just in case it could be from the Twat-Brigade and she turned her phone. Fortunately, her concerns were quickly quelled when she discovered that it was from The Diamond Roses' Poison Princess Rosalinda Belladonna. Amelia sighed with relief. Rosalinda was such a sweetheart that it was easy to forget she was of the deadliest Supers on the planet. She relaxed and texted her back.

She wiped her tears away and gave Rose a thank you text before putting up her phone. "I say we plan a counter attack" Dante offered, Amelia and Stephen both looked like they're seconds away from doing a spit take. "Yeah I know. Normally I would just hunt the asshole right then and there. But this is different. Beside, Mia. I know deep down you want to make the bastards pay for what they did to you" Amelia rubs the back of her neck, "You know, sometimes I hate it when you make sense Dante. OK but we are doing this the right way. But first lets wait till the Roses get here before we plan anything"

She stared at it for a moment before she slowly reached out to pick it up and looked at it and braced herself for whatever it could be. OK but we are doing this the right way. But first lets wait till the Roses get here before we plan anything" "You got it. Do you want some more ice until then?" "Sure. For my eye please." "Of course." Dante gently patted her on the back and he walked across the room, retrieved another bag of ice and then he walked back over to her and handed it Amelia. "Thank you." She accepted it and placed the ice bag on her eye. "You didn't deserve this, Amelia. Regardless of what those jerkwads might think or say you didn't deserve that." Stephen assured her. "I know man. Thank you. And that's why we're going to knock their lights out for it." - Morgaine Devonshire relaxed on the sofa alongside Ruby St. Clair inside of her ridiculously opulent mansion both clad in their respective choice of suits as she played the violin until Rosalinda re-entered the living room phone in hand. "Amelia's resting at Clock Tower Haven now. Are we ready?" "We always have been. Do you have your medicines ready?" Rosalinda opened her suit jacket to reveal the vials of her medicines and ointments. "Always." "Perfect. Lets go then." Ruby set her violin and bow inside of the case, secured them and then she closed it up and stood back up. "I already have a melody in mind to help her feel better." "Wonderful darling. I'm sure she'll appreciate it." Morgaine assured her as they walked out of the mansion where Morgaine's limo was waiting with Mister Martin at the wheel. The trio entered the limousine and got comfortable as he drove them to the clock tower. - The trio soon arrived outside of The Clock Tower and they stepped out to look up at it. The Clock Tower had always been Amelia's home away from home and a popular hangout spot for the heroes as a whole and it wasn't hard to see why as they beheld the Gothic Cathedral Clock Tower in all its majesty. "Alright ladies. Lets go cheer up our friend." Morgaine spoke aloud with a smile as they walked inside.

Hyperion City
It was silent in Pantheon Tower, save for the sounds of Nora's footsteps as she contemplates on what to do in light of the recent event that befallen her youngest daughter Amelia. Her mind was spinning, her daughter had dealt with her share of bullies before but this was different. This was orchestrated by the hands of a supposed teacher. That thought made Nora's blood boil, someone who was supposed to teach the next generation to be better ended up being a monster that corrupted other students to commut such an act towards Amelia. The mother side of her would love to deliver her own brand of justice but that would go against everything she had taught her daughters. She's at a moral crossroad.
Her cellphone ring, the moment she saw who it is that oddly put her mind at ease. Even if Izumi was far away at another country her presence seem to leave a calm affect towards her. "Hello Ladyhawk"
"Hey, I heard about what happened from Caroline. How is Amelia doing?"
Nora sighed, rubbing the bridge of her nose, "She's..she's a little shaken up and despite a few minor inuries she's doing well."
"That's good to know. Just say the word and i'll be there if you need anything"
"I appreciate that but-" Noras voice cracked and she gave herself a moment to calm herself.
"Deep breaths Nora, just remember your daughter is safe."

"Deep breaths Nora, just remember your daughter is safe." OT: Izumi is such a real one! Whenever her friends are feeling down or worried she's always the one who's able to bring them back up and cheer them up and every single one of them would be willing to do the same for her. IC! Nora sat down and brushed her cape back as she performed her breathing exercises to calm herself down. "I-I...yeah. Yes. Yes of course. She's fine. My sweet little Amelia is fine. She's okay, she's safe, she's doing alright with her friends at her side. She's going to be okay. She's going to be safe. She's going to recover and her sisters are on their way to her right now with their friends. She'll be alright. My little girl will be alright and she's going to recover and I am going to use the legal system to utterly crucify those little bastards responsible!" "Thaaa-t's the spirit girl! Maybe not in those exact words but knocking them off their high horses and giving them some time in The Riverbend Correctional Facility will be more than enough. Right now the best thing you can do is focus on your mental health and then you go get your wife and daughters together and have a group hug and family group therapy session." Izumi advised Nora. Annabelle Ruby was on her way to the room to speak with her but she easily overheard their conversation on the phone so she smiled and turned around and leaned against the wall to let Nora and Izumi finish their conversation first before she stepped in to give Nora a friendly hug and pat on the shoulder.

"And by the way, Izumi." "Yes?" Nora hesitated, chewing on her lower lip. Izumi could sense the conflict in her partner. They had shared enough years and enough nights to read each other like open books. Carmella's reputation was a shadow that loomed over this moment, her relentless crusade against the remnants of Equilibrium's cult not easily forgotten. Izumi assured Nora that Carmella had softened, but Mia was the closest thing Carmella had to a younger sister. It wasn’t a risk worth taking. "Don't tell Carmella, please. At least not until the ones responsible are apprehended." Izumi nodded, considering the request carefully. "For Amelia’s sake, I’ll honor that. But you should know, if she asks about Mia, I won't lie to her. I can’t." Nora sighed, her shoulders relaxing slightly. "As a mother myself, I understand." A small, wistful smile tugged at Izumi’s lips. "Just make sure Mia listens to her godmother and focuses on healing." "I'll make sure she does. Take care, Ladyhawk." "You too." The Clock TowerAmelia, Dante, and Stephen descended down the stairs. Her phone buzzed and read a text from Morgaine that informed her that she and the other Roses are arriving soon. "They're on their way" she informed Stephen and Dante Annabelle let her rest for a moment before she slowly opened the door and stepped inside to greet her. "Hey Nora." "Oh hey Anna! How's it going?" "I'm doing just fine. You're the one I'm concerned about. I heard everything about what happened." "Ah, you were listening?" "Heard about it through the grapevine and then the phone call. I didn't want to interrupt." The Oldschool Super Soldier stepped in and gave her friend a comforting hug that Nora gently returned. It felt good. It felt really good. Thanks to talking about her problem with Izumi and now getting a comforting hug from a close friend she could feel her worries finally starting to wash away. "Thanks a lot. Needed this today." "I've always got time for a friend." Annabelle assured her as they parted. "Heh. That's my girl. It's jut been a rather intense day." "I don't blame you. No real mother would ever want to see their daughter hurt. But she's going to be fine. She's going to heal and come back stronger from this. I'm sure that the Roses are on their way over there now and Poison-Girl will have something to fix her right back up." Annabelle assured her. "Honestly? I admire your restraint in this matter." - "Then lets go on down and meet our wealthy friends." Stephen stated as they continued to descend the stairs. The Diamond Roses pulled up just as they reached the first floor and the door opened to reveal the trio standing together clad in their fancy suits. "Good day everyone. Lets get to work." Morgaine informed the team. Rosie quickly crossed the distance between herself and Amelia while reaching into her vest. She held out a vial with the medicine inside of it first. "Hey Amelia! We got here as quickly as we could. Don't you worry about those owies. We'll have you fixed back up in a minute. First, drink this and then I'll apply the ointment." Ruby St. Clair meanwhile walked over to a set her violin case down on it, opened it up and retrieved her violin and bow. She began playing out a wonderful, beautiful and heartfelt violin piece that put everyone in the room at ease. An effect that was amplified further by her Sonokinesis. The beautiful melody echoed through the clock tower as Morgaine approached Dante and Stephen. "So what do we know about the people responsible?"
