Definitely! Black Widow had real potential but the movies turned her into the same jokester as the others after IM2 and WS and by the end you could tell ScarJo was just totally checked out.

Rudy silently observed the situation for a little bit longer before he turned and walked away with his hands behind his back. Amanda smirked and waved goodbye as she went to her room to prepare her own face punching plan.

Samson placed a comforting hand on Mark. "Are you going to be okay?"

Bulletproof took Carmella aside now that they had a chance to talk. "Alright. First thing's first. You are badass as hell, Carmella, and I'm glad you're on the team."

"Awwww thanks!"

(But ah, in all honesty? Do you have any tricks up your sleeve for how in the hell we're gonna survive this?)

Shapesmith meanwhile checked out to return to the workout room where he collapsed and leaned against the wall. "Well...if nothing else? At least she's not a parasite. Still scary as hell...but I'll take a Viltrumite over even one of those leeches any day of the week."

"Who knows? Maybe it's a sign that your lucks finally improving." Samson joked. "Go ahead and take a few to relax and then go check in your mom. She's still recovering from fighting that portal freak, right? Angstoverload or something? The whiny brain guy?"

Mark groaned and pinched his nose. "Oh you have NO idea! Seriously, you just had to be there to believe that guy." He lowered his hand and looked back to Samson. "Seriously, The Loser League might've been less whiny than him!"

There was a pause and then he and Samson both started laughing.

At the break room, it's a good thing that Bulletproof didn't open his bottle of water otherwise he'd be doing a spit take right now. "Uh well, I-I mean no not like that. Don't get me wrong you're"

"Fine as hell" Carmella added while pulling out a bottle of blood from the fridge.

"Definitely. But I know you're only interested in the ladies."

She glanced slightly at Anissa who left the base then responded "True, technically."

Bulletproof tilts his head.

"Lets just say I have my 'if it had to be a guy' "

"Sweet. Someone from your coven?"

Carmella chuckled. "Oh please. Sure there are some members of the vampire community I like but no way I am getting involved with one"

Note: Meanwhile the Serenity Verse version of Carmella says, "Give it time"

"Cool. So is this guy say someone within The Guardians?"

Carmella beeps Bulletproof on the nose affectionately. "You better start wearing a heavy coat 'cause it just got cold. I'll give you a clue. In some parts, he's known as Baba Yaga"

Bulletproof rubs his chin. Intrigued by the mystery of the individual who has piqued her interest. Deciding to place hold that for later he changed the subject in asking. "So does your mom still run a Dojo?"

Carmella nods, "Interested in joining?"

Bulletproof nods. "Yeah. After that whole insanity in Mars, The Lizard League, that whole mess Mark went through it made me realize that I need to step up so that when something intense goes down I'd have my teammates back. Plus I want to train my mind to prevent myself from getting controlled by the Squids again"

"I certainly hope so. Because we've been on the backfoot for a while now. It's well past time we stepped up our game in response and this will be our first big step in doing it." He ran his fingers through his hair. "By the way...did you hear what she did to The Squad?"

"Harley and co? Yeah. Honestly, I'm surprised it didn't happen to them sooner."

"HA! I know, right? I mean...if you're going to literally call yourselves The Suicide Squad...well, you aren't looking at a long shelf life. But who started it anyway?"

"From what I hear? Harley did. She thought she was being slick by trying to shoot a Super out of the air with a bazooka while her attention was elsewhere. Aniisa was just there observing the city, trying to see what Mark sees in humanity, and then boom. Rocket to the back." Carmella shrugged. "Naturally she took offense to that and took care of business. Death By Pragmatism."

There was a brief pause before Bulletproof suddenly began laughing. "God-DAMN! So even when the Villains do take the chance to just shoot us they still screw it up!"

"I mean, Rex flat out got capped in the head and he just walked it off. Shooting the Hero isn't always the solution that Villains think it is. It's why you double tap."

Bulletproof’s comment about the Lizard League made her think back to Raye’s current condition. Nobody deserves what she went through and Carmella has faced down her share of carnivorous creatures but it’s different when it hits close to home.

She balled her fists, angry at the bastard who did that to her. (fucking asshole. If I wasn’t so caught up in coven duties that day.)

Her thoughts was cut off when she felt a hand on her shoulder.

"Yeah. But listen: Nobody blames you or anyone else for what happened besides the ones responsible for it and it resulted in the Lizards being wiped out. Now we can begin the healing process together and build ourselves back up stronger than ever." He assured Carmella before smiling. "But hey? If you need to do some venting we could go find some villainous lawbreaker and teach them a lesson. There's always someone after all."
