What began as the slaughter of Task Force X morphs into a Dark Comedy Series as Mark tries to convince Anissa to become a Hero. |

The Guardians of The Globe HQ
Anissa observed the surroundings of the headquarters of the world-renowned superhero group. Calling The Guardians of The Globe the world's best would be pushing it but they get the job done when it counts.
"If this is what your planet passes as advanced technology I am honestly surprised it hasn't been conquered by an invading force already" Anissa commented, clearly unimpressed.
"I bet she's a ray of sunshine on her home planet" Rex muttered to Carmella, watching Mark rub the back of his neck.
"So this is the hottie that Cecil told us about?" Carmella say with a grin
"Uh-Last I checked she did try to kill Mark earlier," Rex said
"And from the looks of things they have worked it all out. I'm going to talk to her."
Rex glanced over at Anissa who was still talking to Mark, "Look you're a badass. Even I'd admit that. But respectfully this lady is waaay out of your weightclass. Hell, she's way out of mine"
"So that means no Wingman?"
Rex shook his head. "Nah. The best I can do is offer you moral support. From a safe distance"
"So let me get this straight, you don't even lead the team. A robot does" Anissa asked in disbelief.
"To be fair the guy is super smart. He has got us out of some pretty intense situations" Mark said.
"Like what?"
"Like knocking out an army of alien invaders. Got them fucked up so bad he had them run home with their tail between their legs. Twice" Carmella commented as she approached Anissa. She sensed something from the vampire girl that piqued her interest.
(God she's just as tall as Lilith. And... endowed. O.K. Carm be cool, you're a Princess so represent) Carmella smiled up at Anissa and waved, "Hi, I'm Carmella Quan Sun. Princess of-"
Without warning Anissa picked her up by the waist with her hands and lifted the Dhampir off her feet. "I knew I sensed something about you! I've traveled countless planets but at long last I've finally met a Fangirie, and a Princess at that!"
(O.K. normally I'd save this kind of thing for a third date) Carmella flushed a pink shade of color then glanced at Mark.

I think I read something like that in one of Dad's books. Either way, Allen's got the intel now so hopefully he's passing it along.) "I see. That's certainly chilling. Thanks for the heads up." "You're welcome." She set Carmella down. "This one? She's strong. I can tell. She'll be useful to the team." "Heh. Compliments appreciated Miss Anissa. I'm not quite as strong or fast as you but I've got plenty of magic tricks up my sleeve that can turn the tide regardless." "You'll get a chance to demonstrate them soon. For now though I have to ask a question of my own." "Sure, what is it?" Anissa turned to point at Amanda and Rudy. "Why are there children on this team? What do they contribute?" "Hey now! Be nice!" Rex spoke up. "Yeah! Rex does a perfectly fine job of pulling his weight!" Amanda joked. "Yeah I-wait, what?" "What? Technically speaking Rudy and I are among the adults on this team." Anissa looked at Mark. |

There are horrors lurking among the stars that would tear through all of you. Viltrumites like me and Mark are only the tip of the iceberg. You are undertrained, understaffed and unprepared. That ends now. From this moment on, I will be pushing each and every one of you to your limits and beyond them. There will be no whining, there will be no crying, there will be no backtalk. Your coddling period is over. I will be taking leadership of this unit and Mark will be serving as my second in command but do not be concerned. There are no favorites here. I will be personally training Mark even harder than I will be training the rest of you." (Anissa....Anissa what are you doing? Why are you putting me on the spot like this?) Mark moaned internally. - Cecil rubbed his forehead. "Donald? I'm not going to need some Aspirin." - "Now then. "Yeeeaaaah....I'm not going to be the first one. If even Invincible is saying he's out? Listening to her might be the best option." Amanda decided. "Right, Rudy?" Rudy had already calculated the odds of them beating Anissa. They weren't good. "If she's offering to train us then we should accept it. Fighting her wouldn't even remotely go in our favor." (For now...) Rex glanced at Shapesmith who'd been staring at Anissa the whole time. "You know you've been oddly quiet since she showed up. Want to contribute?" "Sorry Rex. I'm terrified beyond rational thought." He confessed. So that left Bulletproof, Samson and Carmella's votes on the decision. Samson sighed and held up his hands. "I say we listen to her. We're not ready to fight someone like her yet. If we can learn a bit more about combat and Viltrumites from someone who's at least on Omni-Man's level? We should take it." "Don't expect me to divulge any of the secrets of my people." Anissa informed him. |

Anissa smiled and placed a hand on Carmella’s head, “You acknowledge the pecking order and unlike most of them.” Anissa laying down and studied the vampire. “ I don’t sense fear in you.” Anissa ruffles Carmella’s hair. “I like you”

How am I doing as Carmella? Clearly, I am channeling some of her personality from the old Legacy stories. Especially since it’s a younger version of her when compared to the serenity version.

I'm recognizing that in her! It's been a long time so it's nice to see one of the old school variants of Carmella back again! And of course her rizz game is as strong as ever! Rest assured I am eagerly looking forward to learning from someone as great and mighty as you and you will experience no fear or complaining from me. If I may inquire though, what types of horrors are you referring to?" "Don't worry about that. Not just yet. I will tell you and the others when you're ready." She slid her hand down the side of Carmella's face. "Lets just focus on training for now. I'm looking forward to an excellent performance from you and the others." That's what she said but Carmella still caught the image of...someone? Something? Some kind of Monster flashing through Anissa's mind momentarily before she had pushed the thought aside. Something dark and horrifying and ominous and undeniably evil.  (The fuck was that thing? Space Satan?) |

Oddly enough way more likable than the canon version Thank you! I was trying to find a balance between seriousness, looming terror and the humor between how the team is reacting to her and how comically serious Anissa is. Plus, it helps that we obviously aren't going to get around to that scene... |

Anissa surveyed the team, she has her work cut out for her that’s for damn sure. “I am missing someone”
Carmella raises her hand, “Cecil has given Eve a leave of absence for…personal reasons”
Note: as explained in Bros Eve Is So Done short story.
“Ah…very well. I’ll have something for her when she comes back. As for the rest of you. Starting tomorrow at 0500 each of you will face each other in a one on one session. I think of this as my way to evaluate which of you is the stronger.”
“ does that include Golden Boy” Rex motion is over to Mark
“ no I have something special in store for him but that will come later. so take this moment to prepare. Your opponent will be announced tomorrow.”
